Legends or stories related to bridges
The construction of Luoyang Bridge is a major contribution to world bridge science. Due to the strong tide of the Luoyang River at that time, the "water was five miles wide" and "inaccessible", so the base of the bridge was destroyed. The bridge builders created a new type of bridge foundation that was not recognized until modern times - a raft-shaped foundation, which is to throw human-measured stones along the central axis of the bridge to form a short stone embankment connecting the bottom of the river. Build boat-shaped piers above. At the same time, the wonderful method of "surging waves to raise the boat and floating the beams" was used to place large stone slabs weighing several tons on the bridge deck. They also cultivated a large number of oysters under the bridge and cemented the foundation stones and pier stones into a solid whole. This is the most ingenious "oyster seeding method" in the history of bridge construction, and it is also the first pioneering work in the world to apply biology to bridge engineering. The completion of the Luoyang Bridge not only turned the Luoyang River natural moat into a thoroughfare, but also played an important role in the development of Quanzhou's overseas transportation industry.
Let me answer, the legend of Qiancheng Bridge
It is said that the Cuo Bridge was built and then destroyed. How many people walked around the cliff and arduously went back and forth, looking at the river and sighing. Zhou Daquan of the Qing Dynasty was a philanthropic man who was restless about building bridges. One night, Zhou Daquan dreamed of a golden rooster descending to earth and standing on the river, with its outstretched wings just on both sides. In the hazy moment, he saw a Bodhisattva standing on the chicken's back, directing the water to both sides. When he woke up and saw the morning light, Zhou Daquan suddenly realized what he was dreaming about and thought it was a divine instruction. He immediately stepped forward to raise funds to rebuild the Cuoqiao Bridge and hired skilled craftsmen from all over the world. Based on the memory in his dream, he designed the entire bridge in the image of a rooster. For the sake of good luck, people call the bridge Qiancheng Bridge.
The Legend of Killing the Bridge
One day, it was heard in Shengze Town that the Taiping Army had passed Pingwang. The Qing soldiers and wealthy men in the town were frightened and fled away.
When we arrived at Jufu Bridge, there were many people and the bridge was narrow and overcrowded, which immediately blocked the bridge. At this moment, a funeral attendant shouted: "The coffin is here! The coffin is here!" This means that the coffin is coming, please give way. The Qing soldiers and wealthmen who were scrambling to escape were in a panic and did not make any distinction. Hearing the constant shouts of "The materials are coming" behind them, they mistakenly thought that the Taiping military materials were coming (they were all here), so they crossed the bridge. . Terrified, he squeezed (meaning to squeeze) desperately.
Suddenly, there was a chaos, trampling on each other, some were trampled to death, or some fell into the water and drowned, countless people. From then on, Jufu Bridge was renamed Zhasha Bridge.
When entering Dong Township, you can often see unique wind and rain bridges. Speaking of Fengyu Bridge, there is a myth and legend.
In ancient times, before the Pingping Village was opened, the Dong family lived in a small village on the hillside with only a dozen families. There was a young man named Buka in a small village who married a wife named Peiguan. The couple is very loving and almost inseparable. When the two of them came back from work, one carried firewood, the other carried grass, the other carried the hoe, and the other took care of the cows. They always followed each other. The crown was very beautiful. When the couple crossed the bridge, the fish in the river jumped out of the water to look at them with envy.
One morning, the river suddenly surged. The Buka couple were in a hurry to go to Xishan to work, so they couldn't care less and walked together to the small wooden bridge in front of the village. Just as they walked to the center of the bridge, a strong wind suddenly blew, which made Buka unable to open his eyes. Peiguan fell into the river with an "oops". Buka opened his eyes and saw that his wife was gone. Knowing that she had been blown down the river, he jumped into the water and dived into the river. However, I searched back and forth several times but couldn't find it. When the villagers found out, they rushed to help him search. After searching for a long time, they still couldn't find Pei Guan. What is going on?
It turned out that there was a crab spirit deep in the river bend, and it swept Pei Guan into a cave at the bottom of the river. All of a sudden, the crab spirit turned into a beautiful young man and wanted Peiguan to be his wife. Peiguan refused and even slapped him. He immediately showed a fierce look and threatened Pei Guan. Pei Guan cried and cursed loudly, and the sound of crying and cursing spread from the bottom of the river to the ears of a flower dragon upstream.
At this time, it was windy and rainy, and the waves were rolling. I saw a flower dragon in the waves, raising its head and looking around. When the dragon's head looks to the left, the waves hit the left, and the landslide on the left. When the dragon's head looks to the right, the waves hit the right, and the right bank breaks. The small wooden bridge had long been swept away by the waves. Everyone was frightened. But when the dragon head came to the beach in Buka, the waves calmed down after the dragon head clicked a few times. Then, Hualong made a circle on the water and rushed to the bottom of the river. Suddenly, the sound of "GuluGuluGulu" continued to be heard from the bottom of the river, and large whirlpools were spinning one after another.
Then, a black smoke emerged from the water, rose into the air and turned into a dark cloud. The flower dragon rushed into the air in hot pursuit, tumbling about, pushing the black cloud down until it finally revealed its original shape. It turned out to be the black crab as big as the top of the drum tower. The black crab fled in panic and climbed to a height of three feet on the cliff. The flower dragon went down into the water and turned somersaults. The dragon's tail swung and swept the crab into the water. After several rounds of this, the crab was exhausted and waddled towards the bamboo forest, hoping to use the bamboo to block the flower dragon. But the flower dragon jumped up and sprayed water from its mouth, causing the bamboo forest to fall down one by one, and the crabs fell into the river again. After the flower dragon followed closely to the bottom of the water, the waves rolled and went down the river. At this time, the black crab could no longer be seen. Later, not far from the river bend, a crab-shaped black stone was revealed, which is where Hualong calmed the crab spirit. This stone is called crab stone by later generations.
When the river calmed down, I heard a woman’s voice calling on the opposite river beach. Buka took a look and saw that it was his wife. Buka asked a few people to swim over immediately. After landing, Peiguan said to Buka: "Thanks to Hualong for saving her!" Everyone then knew that Hualong saved her, and they were all grateful to Hualong. At this time, the flower dragon flew back upstream, nodding to people from time to time.
This incident quickly spread throughout Dong Township. Everyone transformed the small wooden bridge near the water into a large wooden bridge like an aerial promenade. They also carved patterns of flower dragons on the four central pillars of the bridge to wish that the flower dragon would always be there. After the completion of the large wooden bridge in the form of a promenade in the sky, a grand celebration ceremony was held, which was very lively. At this time, colorful clouds floated in the sky, shaped like a long dragon, and there were thousands of rays of light. When everyone took a closer look, it was the flower dragon coming back to visit everyone. Therefore, later generations called this bridge Huilong Bridge. Some places are also called Flower Bridge, and because the bridge can shelter from wind and rain, it is also called Wind and Rain Bridge.
Zhaozhou in ancient times is now Zhao County in Hebei Province. There are two stone bridges in Zhaozhou, one in the south of the city and one in the west of the city. The big stone bridge in the south of the city looks like a rainbow holding a dragon. It is magnificent and majestic over the river. According to folklore, this big stone bridge was built by Lu Ban; the small stone bridge in the west of the city looks like a white stripe floating on the water. Legend has it that this small stone bridge was built by Lu Ban's sister Lu Jiang. These two bridges are well repaired! "Little Cowherd" was performed on the stage, and there were also lyrics like this: "Grandpa Lu Ban built the stone bridge in Zhaozhou, the jade railings were left by the saint, Zhang Guolao rode a donkey on the bridge, and Lord Chai's cart rolled over a ditch." It is sung here. The legend of Lu Ban repairing the Zhaozhou Bridge.
According to legend, Lu Ban and his sister traveled around the world and when they reached Zhaozhou, they were blocked by a vast white Mihe River. On the riverside, people pushing carts, carrying burdens, selling onions and garlic, riding horses to take exams, and pulling donkeys to meet, were noisy, vying to cross the river into the city. There were only two small boats swinging back and forth in the river, and they couldn't pass a few people in half a day. Lu Ban saw it and asked, "Why don't you build a bridge across the river?" People said, "You dare to build it. Even if you hold up a lantern, you can't find such skilled craftsmen!" Lu Ban was moved after hearing this, and he and his sister saw the river again. The water is wide, the water is deep, and the waves are strong. My sister Lu Jiang agreed to build two bridges for pedestrians.
Lu Ban said to his sister: "Let's build the big stone bridge first and then the small stone bridge!"
Lu Jiang said: "Okay!"
Lu Ban said; "Building a bridge is hard work, don't be afraid of hardship!"
Lu Jiang said: "Don't be afraid!"
Lu Ban said: "Just don't be afraid. You are stupid. My hands are clumsy, and I will be in trouble if I am afraid of hardship." This sentence made Lu Jiang unhappy. She said unconvinced: "Don't blame me for being clumsy. Now, let's practice separately. You will do the big one and I will do the small one. Let's have a competition with you.
Let's see who can do it. Repair it quickly and repair it well."
Lu Ban said: "Okay, let's race! When will the construction start and when will it be completed?"
Lu Jiang said: "Stars will appear after dark. , The rooster crows and we finish work at dawn." With that said, the brothers and sisters split up to prepare.
Lu Ban strolled westward into the mountains calmly. When Lu Jiang arrived in the west of the city, he hurriedly took action. While she was repairing, she thought: Don't be too busy, I have to pull you down. Sure enough, before the third watch, the small stone bridge was repaired. Then she quietly ran to the south of the city to see how well her brother had cultivated. When I came to the south of the city, I saw that there was not even a bridge on the river. Luban is not by the river either. She thought to herself that her brother would definitely lose this time. But when I turned around, I saw a man driving a group of sheep on Taihang Mountain to the west, scampering down the mountain. When she got closer, she saw that it was her brother who was driving the sheep.
They were not herds of sheep. They were clearly driven by stones as white as snowflakes and as smooth as jade. When these stones came to the river, they turned into various processed stones in the blink of an eye. There are square bridge foundation stones, rectangular bridge deck stones, crescent-shaped arch stones, and beautiful railings. Beautiful pillars, everything used on bridges. Lu Jiang was shocked when he saw it. Such a good stone must be so strong to build a bridge! In contrast, the one I made didn't work, and I needed to find a way to fix it quickly. It’s too late to rebuild, so just work on carving to surpass him! She quietly returned to the west of the city and started carving on the railings Pangu opening the sky, Dayu controlling the floods, and the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, Danfeng Chaoyang. All the rare birds and animals, exotic flowers and plants are carved as if they were real. Carve it so that birds can spread their wings and fly, and carve it so that the fragrance of flowers fills your nostrils. When she was satisfied with the exquisite carvings, she ran to the south of the city to take a peek at Lu Ban. At first glance, I screamed in surprise. Why did the rainbow in the sky fall on the river? After calming down and taking a closer look, it turned out that my brother had built the bridge and only needed to install the last pillar on the bridge. Her uncle won the bet and made a joke with him. She ducked behind the willow tree, held her throat and stretched her neck, "Cuckoo--" She quickly copied the last one and imitated a chicken cry. Her crow caused the chickens in the nearby people's houses to crow. Lu Ban heard the rooster crow and placed the pillars on the bridge, and the bridge was completed.
The two bridges, one large and one small, are both exquisite. Lu Ban's big stone bridge is majestic, sturdy and durable; Lu Jiangxiu's small stone bridge is exquisite, beautiful and gratifying. Zhaozhou built two bridges overnight, causing a sensation in nearby prefectures and counties the next day. Everyone saw it and everyone praised it. Skilled craftsmen come here to learn their crafts, and girls with skillful hands come here to draw patterns. The number of people who come to visit every day is like running water. This strange thing soon reached the ears of Zhang Guolao, the immortal of Pengcai Xiandao. Guo Lao didn't believe this, he thought how could Lu Ban have such great abilities! The envoy invited Prince Chai to go and see what happened. Zhang Guolao rode a little black donkey, and Lord Chai pushed a wheelbarrow. They came to the Zhaozhou Dasheng Bridge and happened to meet Lu Ban standing on the bridge, looking at the passers-by and smiling! Zhang Guolao asked Lu Ban: "Did you build this bridge?" Lu Ban said: "Yes, what's wrong with it?" Zhang Guolao pointed to the little black donkey and Chai Wangye's cart and said: You little donkey, "Can it survive when we cross the bridge?" Lu Ban glanced at the two of them and said, "A big mule is better than a big horse, a gold chariot and a silver chariot can pass, but a broken chariot can't cross?" When Zhang Guolao heard this, he felt that his tone was too loud, so he used magic to gather the sun and the moon, and put them on the donkey's back with the sun on the left and the moon on the right. Prince Chai also used magic to gather the famous Five Mountains and put them on the car. The two smiled slightly and drove the donkey onto the bridge with the cart. As soon as I got on the bridge, I saw the bridge flickering. Lu Ban hurriedly jumped under the bridge, raised his right hand to support the bridge body, and saved the bridge.
The two of them passed by. Zhang Guolao looked back at the bridge and said to Lord Chai: Lord Chai kept praising, "It's no wonder that this bridge built by Lu Ban is truly unparalleled in the world." Ban looked at their backs, He nodded in agreement and extended his thumb to Lu Ban, who had just returned to the bridge. Lu said: "These two are not simple people!"
Now, on the Zhaozhou Stone Bridge, There are still the hoof prints of Zhang Guolao's donkey and a ditch made by King Chai's cart. Anyone who goes to the Zhaozhou Stone Bridge can see that there used to be a big handprint of Lu Ban holding the bridge under the bridge, but now it cannot be seen clearly.
Open the map of Beijing and you can find a place called Jiuxian Bridge in the northeast corner. Jiuxianqiao used to be a small and remote village, but now it has many tall buildings and wide roads. Why is this place called "Jiuxian Bridge"?
According to folklore, people opened a river here a long time ago. If there is a river, there must be a bridge. I don’t know when the bridge was built, but no one dared to walk across it. While everyone was hesitating, an old man with a gray beard pushed a wheelbarrow with four baskets of wine on it and came straight to the bridge. People commented one after another: "This old man is very strong! The four baskets of wine must weigh more than 200 kilograms at least!" While they were talking, the car had reached the center of the bridge, and no one in the crowd knew who was fishing! "Shouted: "Good strength! "After he finished speaking, the car tilted to the right, and the two baskets of wine on the right fell into the river with a "dong, dong". "Oops! Everyone was about to go over and help, but the old man pushed the cart away quickly as if nothing happened, and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
An attentive person said: "It is a miracle to be able to push a cart that weighs more than 100 kilograms on one side so smoothly when it is empty." At this time, a smell of wine wafted out from the river, "Good wine! "It smells good!" Someone suggested: "Let's call this bridge 'Jiuxian Bridge'?" "Okay!" Then the name "Jiuxian Bridge" was called.
With the Jiuxian Bridge, the people nearby are happy. If you want to drink, just scoop some river water, hey! It really tastes like wine, even if it's lighter, it can satisfy your cravings.
One day, an old man with a black beard came, picked up a basket of wine, set up a shed by the river, and started selling wine. After that, the smell of wine in the river became weaker and weaker day by day, but the business of the old man with black beard became more and more prosperous. People began to doubt this old man: he always sells wine at dawn and only closes his stall after dark. How come a basket of wine took so long to sell?
On this day, everyone recommended a young man to lurk in the sorghum field near the small shed to observe the old man's movements after dinner. At midnight, the old man walked to the river with a wine basket and a spoon, looked around, then scooped up more than half of the river water ladle by ladle, and returned to the shed. After finding out the details, the young man sneaked home quietly, planning to tell the villagers tomorrow and settle the score with the old man.
At dawn the next day, the young man took the villagers to the small shed. At first glance, besides the old man with the black beard, there were two more people. One was the gray beard who dropped the wine basket into the river. There were also an old man with a snow-white beard more than two feet long. They were dismantling the shed and packing things. Everyone was stunned. The young man asked the old man with a gray beard: "Aren't you a god? Why are you here?" The old man smiled and said nothing. The old man with the snow-white beard laughed loudly, pointed at the old man with the gray beard and said, "The man who mixes the wine with the water is my son." Then pointed to the old man with the black beard, "The man who mixes the wine with the water is my son." My grandson. There is no such thing as a fairy!" After that, he took his son and grandson away. From then on, the river water in Jiuxianqiao no longer smelled of alcohol. From then on, no one selling wine in Jiuxianqiao area dared to mix wine with water, let alone water with wine. It is said that they were afraid of becoming the son or grandson of an old man with a snow-white beard.

Small Foot Bridge Legend has it that Meng Jiangnu set out from Huating County (now Songjiang County, Shanghai) and traveled thousands of miles to find her husband, traveling day and night. One day, I walked to Xiaoshenzhou, ten miles east of Shengze Town. As soon as they stepped onto the unknown stone bridge, the accompanying servant had evil thoughts in his mind and said with a lewd smile: "Miss, it has been more than three years since Mr. Wan Xianggong built the Great Wall. There is no news at all, and life and death are uncertain. This trip is thousands of miles away, how can your three-inch golden lotus survive?" After all the hard work, let's get married and be happy." After hearing this, Meng Jiangnu was angry and ashamed, and she made a plan, pretending to smile, and said softly: "We can't get married without a matchmaker, what do you think? The servant thought that Meng Jiangnu had agreed, and was overjoyed and said, "Whatever the lady says, I will do it!" Meng Jiangnu pointed to the blooming lotus under the bridge and said, "The lotus flowers in the water are bright and beautiful. You can pick two of them, and we will use them as matchmakers." "Okay." My servant is not good at water, please forgive me. Meng Jiangnu refused and took off the foot-binding cloth. He tied one end in the slave's waist and pinched the other in his own hand, saying: "Don't worry about getting into the water, I will hold it for you." The slave swung down the foot-binding cloth, getting farther and farther away from the bridge. At this time, Meng Jiangnu was angry in her chest, stamped her feet and cursed: "Evil slave, you are looking for a dead end, you can't blame a weak girl!" After saying that Bibu loosened his hand, the slave struggled and slowly sank to the bottom of the water, dying. Meng Jiangnu left a small footprint on the west side of the bridge where she stamped her feet. It was pointed in front and rounded in back, about three inches long. Since then, the name of the small stone bridge has been passed down to this day as "Little Foot Bridge". 122 Hope this helps you!
The legend of Zhaozhou Bridge:
The fairy marks on Zhaozhou Bridge mainly refer to the donkey hoof marks left by the legendary Zhang Guolao who rode a donkey upside down on the bridge; Chai The mark of the lane ditch made by the prince's cart when crossing the bridge and the mark of his knees; the mark of Lu Ban's palms when he jumped into the river to save the stone bridge and pushed the stone bridge with his hands. These miraculous traces are often talked about by tourists. One of the most interesting contents is that when you come to Zhaozhou Bridge, you must first look for it to see what it is. This is the most famous legend about Zhaozhou Bridge.
It is said that once upon a time there was a big river named Xiaohe River five miles south of Zhao County, Hebei Province. The Jinghe River originates from Jingxing Mountain in western Hebei Province. In ancient times, its water potential was very strong. Every summer and autumn, when heavy rains came, the rainwater and mountain springs flowed down the river together, and merged with several rivers along the way to form a raging torrent. Therefore, residents and pedestrians on both sides of the Mihe River feel very inconvenienced.
This difficulty of the people of Zhao County was known to the famous craftsman Lu Ban.
He came all the way and used his outstanding skills to build the Zhaozhou Stone Bridge overnight.
The news that Zhaozhou Bridge was completed quickly spread throughout the country. Residents from near and far rushed to visit with surprise. This miracle even alarmed Zhang Guolao, one of the "Eight Immortals". On the donkey's back, the "sun" was placed on one side and the "moon" was placed on the other side, so that it could walk across the bridge. Not to mention, Zhang Guo always wanted to make a joke with Lu Ban, so he made an appointment with Chai Rong, pushed a wheelbarrow carrying "Five Famous Mountains", and came to the bridge together, and asked if the bridge could accommodate the two of them. Walk at the same time. At this time, Lu Ban had just repaired the bridge and was very proud, so he said disapprovingly: "Such a solid stone bridge, can't it withstand the two of you walking on it?" Unexpectedly, after they got on the bridge, the bridge was crumbling. When Lu Ban saw that the situation was not good, he quickly jumped off the bridge and held the east side of the bridge with his hands, so that the two immortals could pass smoothly with the sun, moon and five famous mountains. Since then, there have been left several "immortal traces" that people talk about on the bridge; Zhang Guolao's donkey hoof prints and the circular pit formed by the fall of his bamboo hat; Chai Rong's knees were crushed by the cart due to too much force. the knee prints and driveway ditches; and the hand prints of the Rubanto Bridge. Later, except for the fact that the east side collapsed and the handprints were no longer visible, the rest of the fairy traces "have remained." This vivid legend is sung in "Little Cowherd".
