Dai funeral custom

1. Ren Lin. This is A Dai cemetery. Every village has its own forest. According to the object of the deceased, the forest can be roughly divided into three parts. Generally, the normal dead are buried together; Dead minors are buried in one place; People who died abnormally were buried in another place. Under normal circumstances, outsiders and strangers are not allowed to enter the forest. Dai people think that outsiders entering the forest will disturb the ghosts here, and there will be natural and man-made disasters in the stockade.

2. Choose your own cemetery. There are two ways for Dai people to choose a cemetery. One is that the dutiful son holds raw eggs and prays in front of the corpse, asking the soul of the deceased to follow him to choose his favorite cemetery. Then throw the silkworm on the ground in the wild or in the forest. Where the egg is broken, dig the ground and bury the dead in the broken place; If the egg is not broken, it is assumed that the deceased doesn't like this place and will throw it to another place. If the egg rolls out and breaks on another grave, the coffin in the old grave will be removed and the new dead will be buried. After burial, there is generally no sacrifice to sweep the cemetery, and there is no need to ask the coffin of the ancestors to be buried. Another way is to touch the ground with a lighted candle and bury it in a extinguished place. Unlike other ethnic groups, Mr. Feng Shui came to see Feng Shui uninvited.
