Zhongkeng Mingde Hall
Zhongkeng Wang Clan Ancestral Hall is located in Zhongkeng Village, Shipai Town, Dongguan City, also known as Zhongkeng Mingde Hall. Based on a comprehensive examination of the layout, structure, component styles and French characteristics of the existing building, it can be inferred that it was built in the middle and late Ming Dynasty. It is the ancestral hall of the Wang family in this village. The ancestral hall is five rooms wide, with a three-entry layout. The top of the hard mountain top and the main ridge of the three entrances are all in the traditional Lingnan boat shape, with a turtle's snout. The ancestral hall is 21.36 meters wide, 87.45 meters long, and covers an area of 1867.932 square meters. Starting from the square in front of the temple, along the central axis from south to north are: large platform, gate tower, front patio, stone archway, vestibule, terrace, middle hall (Mingde Hall), back patio, and back hall (ancestral hall). The horizontal plaque "Wang's Grand Ancestral Hall" hung on the gate of the ancestral hall was inscribed by Zhang Ruitu, a calligrapher and painter of the Ming Dynasty and Wanli Jinshi. The plaque still exists today. There is a blue-grey stone archway with three bays and four columns in the gatehouse. The inscription "Chen Zuosu" on the archway was established in the 14th year of Jiaqing (1810).
