Where does the Pearl River Delta in China refer to?

The Pearl River Delta is located in the lower reaches of the Pearl River in China. It is a geographical, political, economic and cultural concept, which refers to different regions. Including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Huizhou and Zhaoqing, Hong Kong and Macao belong to their regional culture.

The GDP of the Pearl River Delta region accounts for about 8~ 10% of the whole country, and its export processing and light industry are developed, accounting for 30% of Chinese mainland's exports. Agriculture is mainly based on subtropical cash crops and rice cultivation, and local residents speak Cantonese. Cantonese cuisine is one of the eight major cuisines in China, and Lingnan culture (especially Guangfo culture) is deeply rooted and passed down from generation to generation.

Among them, Guangzhou is located in the core of the Pearl River Delta, and its economic aggregate is second only to Shanghai and Beijing in Chinese mainland. It is a national central city, a sub-provincial city, a city with separate plans, an economic and cultural center in Lingnan area and the capital of Guangdong Province, with strong radiation in South China. As a special administrative region and an international financial and trade center, Hong Kong has a strong influence in Guangdong.
