Why did you put Yang Guifei to death?
Yang, whose real name is Zhao, was born in Yongle period of Tang Pu (now Ruicheng, Shanxi). Yang Guifei's great-grandfather brother (the other is the same brother). Born in an unknown year, he died in June (756) in the fifteenth year of Tianbao, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty.
Yang Zhao is a bohemian boy who likes drinking and gambling, so he is poor and often borrows money from others. People look down on him. At the age of 30, he joined the army in Sichuan, made great efforts and performed well. However, due to our time, Zhang Wei dismissed him and only appointed him as the new captain. Even poorer. Xianyu Zhongtong, a rich man in Sichuan, often financially supported him and recommended him to Zhang Qiu and Joan, messengers of our army. Zhang Qiu and Joan saw that Yang Zhao was burly, handsome, eloquent and very satisfied, so they immediately appointed him as the interview ambassador, and they were closely related. Because Zhang Qiu and Joan were worried about Li's autocratic power at that time, it was difficult to protect her position, so they wanted Yang Zhao to be a domestic servant. At this point, Yang Yuhuan has been dubbed the imperial concubine, and her three siblings are becoming more and more favored. Zhang Qiu and Joan used this nepotism to send Yang Zhao to the capital to pay tribute to the court. When Yang Zhao passed by Pixian County, Joan's cronies were ordered to give him valuable Sichuan local products. After arriving in Chang 'an, Yang Zhao distributed the local products to Yang's sisters, saying that they were sent by Zhang Qiu and Joan. Therefore, Yang's sisters often put in a good word for Yang Zhao and Zhang Qiu and Joan in front of Xuanzong, and introduced Yang Zhao to Xuanzong, who appointed him as Jin Cao to join the army. From then on, Yang went in and out of the Forbidden City with worshippers.
After Yang Zhao established himself in Chang 'an, he was favored by the imperial concubine and Yang's sisters. Clever profit. In the palace, he often approached the imperial concubine and served Xuanzong carefully, which was to his liking; In the imperial court, every effort was made to please powerful ministers. During the prohibition period, Yang Zhao was in charge of the year-old book (the score book for entertainment activities). Xuanzong admired his calculation and once praised him as a good scholar. Soon, Yang Zhao served as the censor, and soon he was promoted to Du Zhi's foreign minister and concurrently served as the censor. In less than a year, he held more than 15 positions and became an important official of the imperial court.
In the seventh year of Tianbao (748), Yang Zhao suggested that Xuanzong sell the grain, cloth and silk stored in various counties, and send them to Beijing as light goods, and buy cloth and silk at local taxes and send them to Beijing. He often told Xuanzong that the national treasury is now very substantial, which is rare in ancient and modern times. So, in February of the eighth year (749), Xuanzong led hundreds of officials to visit Zuozang. He was very happy to see this, so he gave Yang Zhao a purple and gold fish bag and became a prefect, in charge of money and food. Since then, it has been more and more favored by Tang Xuanzong. In October of the ninth year (750), Yang Zhao requested to change his name to show his loyalty because of the word "Golden Knife" on the picture, and Xuanzong gave him the name "Guo Zhong".
With the promotion of his status, Yang became extremely extravagant and corrupt in his life. Every time I accompany Xuanzong and the imperial concubine to visit Huaqing Palace, Yang's sisters always gather at Yang's home first, vying to decorate the horses and chariots. They decorate them with gold and jade, and they decorate them with pearls and jewels. When traveling, Yang also held a series of ceremonies in front of him (symbolizing the power granted by the emperor to the special envoy).
In the relationship between Yang and Prime Minister Li, at first, they sang together and used each other. In order to climb up, Yang tried his best to please Li, and Li also tried his best to win Yang, because he was a relative. When Li framed the prince, Yang and others acted as thugs and actively participated in his activities. They set up another court in the capital and repeatedly pushed the prison, implicating hundreds of followers of the prince. Because of Yang's favor and outspoken, he is always the first to attack. The contradiction between Yang and the Prince is getting deeper and deeper. Later, due to the dispute of power and interests between the old and new nobles, Li and Yang had a contradiction, mainly in the treatment of Wang (Cheng * * *). Li and Yang are jealous because Wang's pet is too deep. However, in order to contain it, Li tried to promote Wang; When Yang framed Wang, Li tried to exonerate him. Because Yang did something. Tang Xuanzong began to alienate Li and Wang, who were killed on trumped-up charges. All the positions held by Wang belong to Yang.
The reason why Emperor Xuanzong trusted Yang so much was not only to please Yang Guifei, but also to curb Li's authoritarian power. At the same time, prepare to replace the aging Li. Finally, in November of the 11th year of Tianbao (752), after Li's death, Xuanzong appointed Yang as the right minister and minister of education, and ordered him to remain. Yang was promoted to prime minister, occupying more than 40 posts.
During his administration, Yang launched two wars to conquer Nanzhao. In the tenth year of Tianbao (75 1), shortly after Yang ascended the throne as Jing, he took the opportunity to recommend his old friend and henchmen Xian Yutong as our ambassador to Jiannan and ordered him to lead the troops to attack Nanzhao. As a result, his foot soldiers were defeated and 60 thousand people were killed. Nanzhao cast Tubo. Yang not only didn't punish Zhong Tong, but made great contributions to him. Then, Yang asked for a second attack on Nanzhao. Xuanzong ordered extensive conscription in Chang 'an, Luoyang, Henan and Hebei. Yang sent someone to suggest arresting people everywhere, handcuffing them and sending them to the barracks. Both parents and wife are crying. In June of 13th year (754), Yang ordered the queen and counselor to attack Nanzhao again, and the result was disastrous. Two attacks on Nanzhao resulted in nearly 200,000 casualties. Yang was overjoyed that the autocratic regime he thought was wrong. He resorted to war in the border minority areas, which not only caused thousands of innocent soldiers to die at the border, but also caused disasters to the minority areas, making the inland countryside barren and the people miserable.
In order to win people's hearts and develop their own power, Yang asked the Ministry of Education to select officials, regardless of whether they have morality or not. Those who have more than a few years will stay, and they will take up their posts if they have seats available according to their qualifications. Traditionally, the prime minister is also the minister of the Ministry of War and the Ministry of Official Affairs, and the selection of officials should be given to officials below assistant minister. The prescribed procedures are very strict, and they must be repeated from Zhixia in the spring. However, Yang showed his delicacy. He first called the petty officials home, made a list in advance, and then called Chen Xilie, the left phase, and all the department heads to the main book hall. After reading a name, he decided to name it, and the day was over. After all, Yang said in front of everyone: "Jacky and the instructor are present, even if they enter the door." Therefore, the power to choose officials was monopolized by Yang alone. Since then, the province has stopped reviewing the selection of officials, and the assistant minister is only responsible for the trial and judgment, resulting in a decline in the quality of the selection of officials. On the other hand, because Yang catered to and satisfied some people's lust for power, he gained a good reputation. To this end, his cronies Yang, Jing, Zhao Ji, Zhongshu Sheren Dou Hua, Shi, Zheng Ang, etc. And asked Xuanzong to erect a monument at the entrance of the provincial capital to praise Yang Xuanguan's "achievements". Xuanzong asked Xianyu Zhongtong to draft the inscription and personally revised several words. In order to flatter Yang, Xianyu Zhongtong filled these words with gold.
Yang is indifferent to the sufferings of the people. In the 12th year of Tianbao (753), floods and severe famines occurred continuously in Guanzhong area. Xuanzong was worried that it would hurt crops. Yang specially asked someone to show it to Xuanzong and said, "Although there was a lot of rain, it didn't hurt crops." Xuanzong believed it. Later, Fufeng Taishoufang (Wang Guan) reported that there was a local flood, and Yang asked Yushi to interrogate him. Since then, no one has dared to report the truth.
An Shi Rebellion broke out in the 14th year of Tianbao (755). The excuse of Anshi Rebellion is to win over Yang. Yang and An Lushan were both upstarts in Tianbao period, and they were also favored by Xuanzong. However, Yang made his fortune much later than the Anshi Rebellion. Before Yang became a official, An Lushan was promoted to our time in Pinglu, Hebei and Hedong as early as the first year of Tianbao (742). In the ninth year of Tianbao (750), he was also named the monarch of Dongping. Although Yang had consorts, it was not until the seventh year of Tianbao (748) that he moved to the Ministry, and he was also a member of the imperial history. An Lushan was afraid of wily Li Ruchao, but looked down on Yang. After Yang took over as prime minister, he saw that An Lushan could not be subdued. He often told Xuanzong that An Lushan was ambitious and showed signs of rebellion, and wanted to get rid of An Lushan by Xuanzong's hand. However, Xuanzong thought that this was a disagreement between the two factions and ignored it. Yang failed to work out one plan and gave birth to another. He asked Longyou's envoy to take Geshuhan and Hexi to repel and contain An Lushan. In the spring of the 13th year of Tianbao (754), according to Yang's suggestion, Xuanzong called An Lushan into the DPRK to test whether he had any intention of rebellion. An Lushan played along, pretending to tell Xuanzong about his "pure heart", winning Xuanzong's more trust, and planning to let An Lushan be the prime minister (plus Pingzhang) and let Da (the local people) draft the imperial edict. After learning this, Yang immediately dissuaded him: "Although An Lushan has made military achievements, he can't read. How can he be a prime minister?" . If a book is published, I'm afraid the MC will despise the court. "Xuanzong had to forget about it and let An Lushan shoot the left servant. At this moment. After the Anshi Rebellion, the contradiction between Yang and Tang Dynasty became more acute and explosive. In addition, after Yang became prime minister, officials were greedy, politically corrupt, and people's grievances boiled, which eventually led to An Lushan's rebellion to seize the throne in the name of Yang.
In June of the fifteenth year of Tianbao (756), Tongguan was captured by rebels, and Chang 'an was in danger. Xuanzong decided to take refuge in Sichuan at Yang's suggestion. When they arrived at Ant Post (now Xingping County, Shaanxi Province), the soldiers were tired and hungry, and the weather was hot, so they refused to move on. At this time, Yang's political enemies, Prince Li and Chen Yizhi, thought that the time was ripe to get rid of Yang. Chen incited the soil and said that the rebellion was caused by Yang, and killing Yang could stop the rebellion. At this time, more than 20 Tibetan messengers blocked Yang's horse's head outside the west gate of the station and asked him for food. The enraged soldiers immediately surrounded them and shouted, "Yang Guozhong conspired with Tubo!" An arrow hit his saddle. Yang fled to the west gate, and soldiers swarmed in and hacked him to death. Then, Yang Guifei was hanged, and Yang's eldest son Da Changqing and assistant minister, as well as Mrs. Han and Mrs. Qin, were also killed. Yang's wife, Peirou's youngest son, Yang Rixi, and his wife Shen fled to Chencang (now Baoji City, Shaanxi Province). Peirou asked Mrs. Guo to stab herself with a sword in the bamboo forest. Mrs. Guo then committed suicide, but she did not die. She was taken back to prison by county officials and died of blood coagulation in her throat.
On the surface, the change of Mayi was a mutiny, but in essence it was a power struggle planned by the prince and eunuchs Li and Gao Lishi. After being hit by Li and Yang in the fifth year of Tianbao (746), the prince was extremely isolated. After Yang became prime minister, he was even more wooed. During the An Lushan Rebellion, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty wanted to succeed him, but he failed to do so because of the opposition of Yang and his sisters. After abandoning Beijing, it flourished in Shu. If he goes to Shu, there will be no future power under Yang's control. So the mastermind's prince took the opportunity to get rid of Yang.
Yang's autocratic power led to the ruin of the country and the death of his family, and his resentment was too deep. Finally, he was hacked to death with a disorderly knife, which was notorious for thousands of years. This is culpable of punishment. But objectively speaking, during his reign, although he was not in Asahi, there was no such horrible and turbulent situation that Li was jealous of the sages and punished his ministers. At the same time, he also collected all the wizards in the world. He is quite famous. Naturally, Yang monopolized the power, his consorts were domineering, people's grievances were boiling, and the Anshi rebellion broke out, which made the powerful Tang Dynasty go from bad to worse. As a prime minister of ten thousand people under one person, Yang has his personal responsibility. However, looking forward, during the reign of Li, the Tang Dynasty showed signs of decline, but it was only when Yang was in power that a general outbreak occurred.
The imperial concubine was also hanged in Lu Temple. The Anshi Rebellion had nothing to do with Yang Guifei, who became the scapegoat of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty.
