The origin of the construction of Eryi Building

Eryi Tower was built over a period of 30 years from the fifth to the thirty-fourth year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1740 to 1770 AD). Its founder was Jiang Shixiong. He is the second eldest son in the family, has super physical strength, and is an expert in reclaiming wasteland and farming. He reclaimed hundreds of acres of wasteland in Anxi and Zhangping, and accumulated some wealth. After marrying a wife and having children, he wanted to establish an inheritance for future generations. He invited a surveyor to choose this geomantic treasure land for him, and spent 12 years of business to build this building without spending huge sums of money. The plane diameter of the building is 73.4 meters. The outer ring is four stories high and the inner ring is one story. It is evenly and equally divided into 12 units, with a total of 192 rooms in addition to doors, halls and stairways.

The earth buildings with a life span of more than 200 years are majestic, simple and exquisite, with traces of vicissitudes of life permeating from the inside out. The 82-year-old old man Jiang who lives in Eryi Building told me about the origin of the ancient building. He said: "The construction of Eryi Building began in the fifth year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty and was completed in the thirty-fifth year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1770). It took 31 years to build. However, the ancestors here experienced countless turbulences before they settled here."

The Yongjia Rebellion in the early years, the war in the late Tang Dynasty, and the invasion of the Song Dynasty by the Jin Dynasty made Hua'an first. The people bid farewell to their homes sadly and hopelessly again and again, and moved their families southward. Along the way, we had to eat and sleep in the open air, crossing the Yellow River and the Yangtze River, from the war-torn north to the peaceful south. Finally, outside the high mountains in the southwest, Hua'an, where the earth buildings are now located, the war disaster in the north and the The turmoil was blocked thousands of miles away. As they went deep into the mountains, smoke began to rise, and the first earth building was built in this mountain depression. Soon, many earth buildings sprung up like mushrooms after a rain.
