What are the interesting attractions in Renshou?
Renshou Gaojia Giant Buddha is located in Niujiaozhai, Yingtou Village, Gaojia Town, 35 kilometers northeast of Renshou County, so it is also called "Niujiaozhai Giant Buddha". The bust of Maitreya Buddha is15.85m high and1m wide. It was built in the first year of Jinglong in Tang Zhongzong in 707 AD, with a history of 1300 years. Around the Giant Buddha, there are also various beautifully carved cliff statues with different postures, about 2,480.
Renshou Giant Buddha was built 100 years earlier than Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan, and it is the largest bust of Buddha in China. It was devastated by war, ignored by the world, and even on the verge of "disfigurement".
On May 25th, 2006, Niujiaozhai Grottoes, represented by Renshou Buddha, as a cultural relic of the Tang Dynasty, was approved by the State Council to be included in the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. On March 5, 20 19, 19 announced that the construction around Renshou Giant Buddha was completely closed, and the giant Buddha entered the "closed maintenance" mode.
Niujiaozhai is located at the junction of Shuangliu, Jianyang and Renshou, with an excellent geographical position. The giant Buddha was carved on the cliff on the east side of Zhaizhai, which was built in 707 AD. Head height is 7.7m, neck height 1 m, chest height 4.85m, face width 4.6m and shoulder width 1 1 m.. It is the only breast Buddha in China.
Interestingly, it is very similar to Leshan Giant Buddha in engineering layout and figure form, and it was built 96 years earlier than Leshan Giant Buddha. Therefore, some cultural relics experts once thought that this was one of the blueprints of Leshan Giant Buddha. Niu Jiao Village in Renshou County has records of "Giant Buddha Pavilion", "Kannonji" and "Summer Resort".
It is 40 kilometers away from Chengdu, with a total area of 4.8 square kilometers. The south, north and west are connected by mountains, and the mountains overlap, and there are many dangers and obstacles, which are dozens of miles from east to west. Close to Yingtou Reservoir and overlooking Jianyang Sancha Lake, it is a national key cultural relics protection unit.
In March 2002, the county government approved it as the first batch of county-level tourist areas. There are 2480 cliff statues in a square kilometer around the Giant Buddha, with niches 10 1 and statues 15 19. There are 1395 Buddhist statues in 95 niches and 124 Taoist statues in 6 niches, most of which are well preserved.
Legend of the giant Buddha.
According to legend, Zhang had a dream before attacking Renshou. An old man told him: "If you want to attack Lingzhou, you must take Niujiaozhai as the camp." The next day, he went to Niujiaozhai to observe, where it was raining cats and dogs, flash floods and the Shanxidu Bridge was flooded.
Zhang waded across the river and was caught in the whirlpool. Just when the people on the shore were terrified, he rolled with a whirlpool and got out of the stream on the other side. After landing, Zhang hurried on in the rain, bowed down all the way, kowtowed 360 times, and came to the Giant Buddha Pavilion, asking the abbot to give directions.
After that, Zhang led a great army to the village to build fortifications, prepare food and grass, and specially made barns and drinking tanks. Soldiers went down the mountain to fetch water for people and animals to drink. Miraculously, on the forty-ninth day, a clear spring appeared on the mountain, which saved the soldiers from carrying water. Army morale, Zhang Jun and the gentry armed fighting for months, and finally killed the magistrate Liu Sance.
In the first year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty, Zhang went to Niujiaozhai again, only to see the plants grow like incense sticks in front of the Buddha on the stone in his hometown for three years. Later, people named the stone bag that Zhang missed his hometown "Wangxiang Stone"; The stone that burns incense and worships is named "censer stone".
And those flowers and trees are like incense sticks, evergreen all the year round; The manger and drinking water tank of that year were also well preserved for future generations to watch.
