Lanzhou, known as Jincheng in ancient times, has been a battleground for military strategists since ancient times. It has the geographical advantage of two mountains sandwiched by a river, making it easy to defend but difficult to attack. During the Han Dynasty, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty sent Huo Qubing to open up the Silk Road to the Western Regions in order to conquer the Xiongnu. As a result, Lanzhou became a transit point for the westward march. Because it bordered the Xiongnu and other ethnic minorities in ancient times, the folk customs were relatively fierce. 1. Climate: Gansu is located deep in the northwest inland, and the ocean temperature and humidity airflow is not easy to reach, and there are few opportunities for rain. The climate in most areas is dry; land desertification is relatively serious. The vegetation coverage is low and it is difficult for suitable species to survive, which is also the cause of sandstorms. Lanzhou is surrounded by the Yellow River between the north and south mountains, and the city is in a belt-shaped basin. The air circulation can only go east and west, so the polluted air cannot be dispersed in time. In addition, most polluting industries are located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, so the air pollution is serious. In recent years, due to the country's vigorous efforts to combat environmental pollution, Lanzhou has closed down and relocated many polluting enterprises. Now you can often see blue skies and white clouds in Lanzhou. In the past, it was so gray that even the American satellites mentioned in the joke could not see the image of Lanzhou. It's a thing of the past. Although there have been changes, it still cannot be compared with the southern plains; there are still bad weather occasionally. Those who say that the weather in Lanzhou is bad may just catch up! Winters in Lanzhou are not as cold as before, and summers are not that hot because the Yellow River passes through the city. In addition, there are various parks and tea stalls on both sides of the Yellow River, making it a good place to escape the heat in summer. Personally, I feel that there is a lot of moisture in the air in the summer in the south, and my body will be sticky every day, while Lanzhou is relatively dry, and even if I sweat, it will dry quickly and it will not be so uncomfortable.
2 Humanities: As I said at the beginning, because Lanzhou in ancient times was located in northwest China, and there were many ethnic minorities mixed together, the folk customs were tough and the quality was not high. However, after the reform and opening up, Lanzhou also attached great importance to education. There are also higher education institutions such as Lanzhou University, and the quality of the urban population has also improved to a certain extent. Due to the constraints of roads, funds, teacher resources, environment and other factors, the quality of the population in rural areas is still relatively backward. In addition, in the past, most ethnic minorities did not accept the country's Han education and maintained their own ethnic customs, so everyone felt that they had no quality. Lanzhou is a tolerant city, home to compatriots from all over the world. There are not many Lanzhou residents who are truly native to the fourth generation or above. People in each place have been educated in local culture and customs since childhood, and this is why they do not understand each other. and one of the reasons for the bad perception. Good habits and bad habits, personal learning abilities and self-improvement qualities from all over the world are gathered together. From the entire Chinese cultural living environment to the small personal self-cultivation, they are all factors that restrict us from improving or reducing our cultural literacy, let alone Lanzhou. , even the entire country is also facing the same problem. For example, the sky-high price of prawns in Qingdao, the compulsory shopping in Yunnan, the sky-high price of seafood in Hainan, the sky-high price of fish in the Northeast, taxis in various places detouring first-time tourists, etc. We cannot deny the comprehensiveness because of individual things or people. The quality of people in Lanzhou was not high before, but things have changed now. Changes in anything require a process, and it’s just a matter of time. 3 Tourism resources: Lanzhou also has a lot of tourism resources, but many people can’t find them without a tour guide. Let me introduce them to you now!
1: The century-old Zhongshan Iron Bridge is known to anyone with some travel knowledge. Get off the train and take bus No. 1, 31 or 102 from the east side of Lanzhou Station to Xiguan Shizi and get off. After the bus, you can look up where the Asia-Europe Building is written, and then walk north along the Asia-Europe Building to see it. If you get off at Lanzhou West Railway Station, take bus 31 and get off at Xiguan Shizi.
2: Baita Mountain is named after the White Pagoda built in the Yuan Dynasty on the mountain. It is the mountain next to the Iron Bridge. You can see the night view of the Yellow River from the mountain at night. The Iron Bridge at night is very beautiful!
3: Wuquan Mountain, as the name suggests, is named after the five springs on the mountain. Get off at Lanzhou Station and take bus No. 11 to get there
4: Xujiashan, the terminus of No. 107 Station, it seems there is nothing to do on the mountain, it is just a place for us to enjoy the cool air and barbecue beer in the summer.
5: Gaolan Mountain. There are Lanshan Park, Santai Pavilion and other attractions on the mountain. There are many farmhouses. It is also our summer resort. If you go here at night, you can also see the night view of most parts of Lanzhou. .
6: Renshou Mountain is located in Anning District. There is no direct bus from the train station. In the past, it was only famous for the peach groves at the foot of the mountain and the peach blossom fair held there. In the past few years, a relatively large longevity statue was built on the top of the mountain, which is more touristic and is also a place to escape the heat in summer
7: Zhutuo Mountain, This place is relatively far away, in Honggu District.
8: Xinglong Mountain, formerly called Xinglong Mountain, was renamed Xinglong Mountain after Liu Bowen came to the northwest to kill the dragon. In Yuzhong County, there are no through buses and the mountains are rich in vegetation. Summer and autumn are the best times to travel. Highly touristic
9 Majian Mountain is a little further away than Xinglong Mountain. The temperature is low all year round, and it is also a good place to escape the summer heat.
10: Waterwheel Expo Park, about 1 km west of the iron bridge, mainly to see the waterwheel.
11: Baiyun Temple, a Taoist temple. If you like Taoism, you can go and see it. It is diagonally opposite the Waterwheel Expo Park.
12: Xiaoxihu Park, formerly the back garden of officials in the Qing Dynasty, is now a leisure park for citizens. It can be reached by buses such as No. 1, No. 31, and No. 102.
13: Jinchengguan, a little to the west at the foot of White Pagoda Mountain, there is a floating mosque, Lanzhou specialty attractions
14: Lanzhou New District, about 70 kilometers away from Lanzhou city, has not been developed yet Well, Lanzhou Airport is located, you can take a look around after getting off the plane
15: Turugou, this scenic spot is not bad. It is located in Yongdeng County, with mountains and rivers, and it is highly touristic.
There are many places to visit around Lanzhou. I just listed some briefly. There are many delicacies in Lanzhou, but I want to explain one thing. Lanzhou beef noodles are only the most authentic ones in Lanzhou. The so-called out-of-town ones. Lanzhou ramen is mostly made by people from Qinghai, and the taste varies greatly.
