How many characters can a Chinese name have at most and at least?
~
The "Name Registration Regulations (Preliminary Draft)" recently announced by the Ministry of Public Security shows that, except for those using ethnic characters or written or translated Chinese characters, the names should be used in More than two Chinese characters and less than six Chinese characters. When a child adopts the surnames of both parents, they can be named according to both surnames, but it will not be counted as a compound surname.
So except for special cases such as ethnic minorities, Han people can also have five-character names. However, as in the case of "Yang Chun Baixue", the procedure may be a bit cumbersome and complicated.
