What are Beihai and Round Castle?

Beihai and Yuanbao are an ancient castle with great historical research value, and also a relatively complete pocket castle. It occupies a small area in similar castles, but it is very functional and has all kinds of facilities.

Next to Beijing Beihai Park, there is a small castle called "Tuancheng". The area here is very small, only more than 4500 square meters, and it is called the smallest castle in the world. Beihai and Yuanmingyuan have a long history of more than 800 years. Tuancheng was originally an island in Taiye Pool. It was a part of Daning Palace in the Jin Dynasty, on which was built the Eternal Temple, which was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty and renamed the Hall of Light. The island is also surrounded by circular walls, 4.6 meters high and 276 meters in circumference. This is the Tuancheng you see now.
