Is there a singles competition in the World Table Tennis Championships?
The World Table Tennis Championship includes seven events: men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, mixed doubles and men's and women's team competitions. Starting from the 47th World Table Tennis Championships in 2003, ITTF decided to separate individual events from team events, with individual events (including men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles) held in odd years and team events (men's and women's team events) held in even years.
The World Table Tennis Championships, referred to as "World Table Tennis Championships" for short, is the oldest and highest-level world table tennis competition sponsored by the International Table Tennis Federation, which symbolizes the highest honor of table tennis and is called the three major table tennis events together with the World Cup and the Olympic Games.
