Rainy sharpening, feng shui.
Guan Sheng Di Jun
The reason why Song people believed that Guan Yu was effective in meteorology may also be related to the battle of Chiyou, because Chiyou's soul turned into a dragon. Some stories said that it caused floods and some stories said that it caused droughts. Floods and droughts are both natural disasters. Guan Yu slew dragons to resist natural disasters, which naturally has this function.
Later, in folklore, Guan Yu was associated with the image of a dragon, so it was natural to take care of the rain.
Dragon!
It has been said in fairy mirrors of past dynasties that Guan Yu was reincarnated as a dragon. This dragon, like the Jinghe Dragon King in The Journey to the West, violated the imperial edict of the Jade Emperor and began to rain. He is different from the King of Jinghe River just to win a bet. He tried to save the Lebanese people. In the story, when Emperor Huan was in power, the Jade Emperor did not let it rain in Hedong. The dragon couldn't see the past, so he took water from the Yellow River, bringing showers to the people in Hedong-this is simply Prometheus of China. But Guan Yu's fate is better than Prometheus's, and he doesn't have to be pecked by evil birds. The jade emperor gave him a good time and cut off the dragon's head with one knife. The plain monk who appeared in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms found the faucet. He put the tap in the jar and recited the scriptures. Nine days later, he heard a loud noise in the jar. When he opened the lid, it was empty. On the other hand, Guan Jia's baby was born. This is Guan Yu.

Although the story is tragic, a dragon is not worthy of the title of Guan. Different knowledge and harmony, saying that the dragon is only Guan Yu's guard, Zhuge Liang praised Guan Yu's beard in the history of the Three Kingdoms, which is the story. It is said that Guan Yu's beard is the longest, black and particularly fierce. Every big war will inevitably shake. During the First World War in Xiangyang, Guan Yu dreamed of a fairy in Tsing Yi and said, "I am an oolong, and I have been attached to you for a long time, so I am mighty." Your time is up today, so I'm leaving. "Say that finish into a black dragon disappeared.
The next day, Guan Yu stroked his beard, but he couldn't see the longest one. He knew that the so-called black dragon was the beard. Later, when Guan Yu was dying in Maicheng, he realized that his fate had already been doomed. The story doesn't end here. In the early years of the Jin Dynasty, there was a drought in Fancheng. A local minister dreamed of the black god and said, "I am Xu Long. You built a temple for me, and it rained immediately. " As promised, it rained heavily, and an oolong appeared in the sky on a sunny day. A company later built a temple and dug a beard when digging the foundation. It seems that this is the dragon on Guan Yu's beard.
Rainfall dragon
People understand that Guan Yu is in charge of rainwater from the perspective of homophonic. I heard it from the old people in the village when I was a child. Guan Yu's homophonic point is Guan Yu. In addition, his word cloud is long, the nature is rain omen, and the cloud is long (Zhang). Isn't it raining? This logic really fits.
There are many immortals in folklore who are in charge of rain, including dragons, rain masters, Raytheon and Li Jing ... but none of them are as powerful as Guan Yu. When it rains, they all have their own brands: sharpening knives and cutting wood by mistake.
Guan Yu Bao Dao
There is a saying in the lunar calendar that "the drought can't last until May 13th", which means that it rains for more than half a day on May 13th in the lunar calendar. From a scientific point of view, this is the result of the convergence of cold and warm air currents. Where did the ancients know this? They associated this day with Guan Yu and explained all this by telling stories. Some places say that Guan Yu is Amani, and some places say that Guan Yu became a god on this day. As for birthday or God, there is no clear explanation. The most popular saying is that Guan Yu sharpened his knife this day, and it rained because he got wet when sharpening his knife.
But why sharpen the knife?
Cross knife glare
The most popular story is going to the one-knife meeting, which is the hongmen banquet. Guan Yu took a knife, naturally sharpening it. Guan Yu became a god after his death, and this day became a fixed sharpening day. The dragon crescent moon blade rattled on the grindstone, splashing water and falling into the world into a shower. In some local stories, this story has been refined. "Guan Yu borrows rain" said that Guan Yu wanted to sharpen his knife before going to the single knife meeting, but he caught up with the drought in Jingzhou and there was no water to grind. Guan Yu was furious and shouted at the sky, "If you don't sharpen my knife, I won't let you dry the dragon clothes." June 6th was the day when the Dragon King dried his robes, which frightened him and caused heavy rain.
In this way, Guan Yu not only managed the rain, but also managed a festival and a brand.
