Yunzhong mountain villa-beauty room

In the East Valley, there is a long valley in Wanting, not far from the center of Guling Street. The villas built near the valley are resplendent and magnificent, among which the "beauty residence" is the most.

Speaking of Lushan villa, you have to say a few words, because this is where the name "Guling" comes from.

After the defeat of the Opium War, the Qing court signed the Sino-British Treaty of Tianjin with Britain in 1858, opening Jiujiang as a trading port, and Jiujiang officially opened in 186 1.

Since then, western businessmen and missionaries have flooded into Jiujiang. However, the summer heat in Jiujiang is unbearable, but Lushan is refreshing. Therefore, these foreigners began to build villas on Lushan Mountain. The first building was built by French missionaries in Lotus Cave at the foot of Lushan Mountain in 1870.

1886, an Englishman named Li Deli climbed Lushan Mountain and saw that the long valley below was very open. He wants to get this valley and build a paradise on it.

A few months later, Li Deli finally got the land, covering an area of 4,500 mu, with an annual rent of12,000 rupees and a lease term of 999 years.

Li Deli named the Changguchong block "Guling", which is a transliteration of "cooling". He founded the "Guling Company" and sold it all over the world. After a few years, it sold out.

From 65438 to 0896, these westerners began to build stone roads in Guling to create natural gardens in Britain. In the past 30 years, there are 560 villas here, and thousands of people from 16 countries live here.

The "beauty salon" was built by an English Lord in 1903 and transferred to Ms. Barry in 1922. She has a deep personal relationship with Song Meiling. 1934, Ms. Barry gave the villa to Song Meiling as a birthday present. Since then, this villa has become the exclusive property of the "First Lady".

This villa is backed by Dayue Mountain, facing the Changchong River in front and surrounded by mountains and waters, which is in line with the feng shui pattern that China people like. Chiang Kai-shek regarded it as a treasure trove of geomantic omen, and liked the environment here very much. He called it a "beauty house", which means "there is no place that is not beautiful in the world", which is also in line with the word "beauty" in Song Meiling's name. The word "beautiful house" on the stone lying in the courtyard was inscribed by Chiang Kai-shek.

Chiang Kai-shek especially likes Lushan Mountain. After he officially became the president of the Republic of China, Lushan became the second political center besides Nanjing-"Summer Capital", and the Beauty Hall became the core of "Summer Capital".

The external walls of beauty salons are made of huge stones, doors and windows are floor-to-ceiling glass, and doors, windows, stairs and veranda platforms are decorated with green wooden patterns. On the whole, it looks quaint and elegant, and it is very harmonious with the flowers and trees in the courtyard.

Today's beauty salon still retains the appearance of the couple before their death. Bedroom, living room, study and even bathroom look not much different from ordinary families now, but this was in the 1930s. Apart from other things, I'm afraid this refrigerator alone was unheard of by ordinary people in China at that time, not to mention the earliest refrigerator in the United States and China.

It can be said that "Beautiful House" is the epitome of a garden city. The flower lawns, towering ancient trees, forest paths, mountain pavilions, stone tables and benches, and water pools and streams here are all warm, quiet, beautiful and elegant. No wonder Mr. and Mrs. Jiang love this baby.

Mao Zedong also has a soft spot for beauty salons. Although there is a "Lulin No.1" villa, Mao Zedong chose to live here for three Lushan meetings: 1959,196, 1970.

In the changing situation, the leaders of the two parties in China have successively lived in the same villa, which is unique in other places.

Beauty salons are not only the unique cultural landscape of Lushan Mountain, but also bear real historical records and have indelible historical memories.
