Why is Erlangshan Tunnel famous?

① Plane and vertical design

Erlangshan tunnel is linear, and the parallel pilot tunnel is located on the right side of the tunnel, parallel to the main tunnel. In order to facilitate river closure and drainage, the design elevation of horizontal pilot tunnel is lower than that of main tunnel.

② Cross-sectional design

The inner contour of Erlangshan tunnel adopts a single-center circular section, and there are several emergency parking zones in the tunnel. The section design of parallel pilot tunnel not only meets the ventilation needs, but also takes into account the convenience of emergency construction. The cross section of horizontal pilot tunnel adopts three-center circle.
