How ZTO Express responds to Double 11
Double Eleven has finally passed. You can write whatever you want here. I believe there are few people who will read it, so just treat it as a Double Eleven written for yourself. Since we learned in the early morning of November 12, 2015 that Boss Ma’s sales this year were 91.2 billion, we felt confused. I remember that the delivery volume of last year’s Double Eleven was around 2,500 tickets per day. At that time, I estimated that this year’s sales would be 91.2 billion. The delivery volume is around 6,000.
The measures we took are:
1. At the end of October, we hired two new people to familiarize ourselves with the environment and deliver goods in preparation for Double Eleven, and organize each business The areas of employees have been narrowed down;
2. At the end of October, we have been guessing what this year’s Double Eleven will be like. After all, the number of shipments on Double Eleven every year will increase. There have been changes to varying degrees. This time we rented a factory;
3. On November 12, we hired two temporary workers to buy time to go to the distribution center to pull parts;
4. Two sets of equipment have been added (tricycle, battery pack, PDA);
Many people say that Double Eleven is good news for express delivery, but it is actually a disaster for couriers. The horror is really Hard to imagine. As for the media's statement that salespeople have an income of over 10,000 yuan during Double Eleven, it is really difficult in second-tier cities like ours, including Dana Express. We were unprepared for Double Eleven in 2014. The weather was kind and it didn’t rain between 11.12 and 11.25 and the weather was cold. We started observing the weather in October 2015. At that time, it showed that there would be rain for a long time during the Double Eleven period. As a result, the weather forecast this time was really accurate, without any error. It rained every day from 11.13 to 11.23.
For those who don’t know much about express delivery, let me tell you how much impact rain has on express delivery:
First of all, our express delivery cannot be sorted in the open air, and we cannot backlog express delivery outside, because The express delivery will get wet, and our service will be greatly troubled when customers receive the express delivery and find it damp:
Secondly, the salesman's delivery speed dropped by 40% for two reasons: one is that the sorting time has increased , the other is that due to heavy rain when traveling, vehicle speed and visibility will be greatly affected.
Finally, in the past, some customers were able to cooperate with our work normally and could go downstairs to pick up their packages. At this time, customers were unwilling to come down, so we had to go upstairs one by one.
Send me a copy of the rainy day scene here. We are really afraid of this kind of weather. Failure to deliver the parcels smoothly will lead to a lot of reminders and complaints from customers. If there are people who understand, Once you can't understand the common language, I don't care, I will crawl over it, you can figure it out by yourself.
To get back to the subject, our express delivery from 11.1 to 11.10 will be less than usual. We have seen less. In fact, we have begun to feel that something is wrong. Many buyers are waiting for Double Eleven to take action. Until 11.11, our express delivery was still relatively less than usual. The incremental time was 11.12. At that time, our express delivery was 1.5 times more than usual, because express delivery from several surrounding provinces would come quickly, and at the same time there were more merchants. Sales only end in the early morning of 11.12, and shipments will start leaving the warehouse after 11.12. There is no sign of a double 11 liquidation. Until November 13th, our driver used a 4.2M truck to pull the goods. After pulling, he unloaded the goods without taking a break in the middle.
Our operators usually work in customer service. Several operators sort and bag the items in the warehouse to ensure that when the salesperson comes back, the items can be loaded and delivered directly to the truck immediately. When the salesperson comes back in the evening, everyone will gather together to sort and bag the items brought back in the evening, and classify the company items and community items. It is already 10 p.m. when the sorting ends every night. More, I will continue to deliver at 8 o'clock in the morning. In this cycle, with the above preparations, it will not be relieved until 11.23.
I would like to sincerely apologize to some customers. We really tried our best, but we were unable to arrange it in time despite everyone's urging. I would like to explain here because we are not intelligent enough. Once a certain item is scanned, its location can be located. Some customers are anxious to come to our company to search, but they fail again and again after seeing such a spectacular sight. Sometimes we really want to help you find it. But if you really want to find a certain piece accurately, it may take 5 to 8 hours, including returning some pieces to their original positions. If you give us some time, we can do a good job in sorting and provide faster delivery speed for salesmen.
We are not an excellent team, and our cooperation during the Double Eleven period was not tacit enough. Our staffing is limited. We all work to make ends meet and earn hard-earned money. Each of them They are all excellent. I only have my own lack of leadership skills to blame.
Thank you for getting so many likes from everyone. I am just a courier. Suddenly I saw this topic posted in the daily newspaper, and I was extremely excited. Thank you editor for being so kind to me.
2014 is the year I entered the express delivery industry, and I have no statistical concept of the delivery volume during Double Eleven. The result is that there is not enough space indoors, and most of them are placed directly outdoors. Fortunately, there is no rain or snow, but the weather suddenly enters the cold winter.
I slept outdoors from the 13th to the 22nd (of course I had to set up a tent, but the ventilation effect was a bit too much) because I had to take care of those packages. Looking back now, it still feels like a nightmare.
Here I would like to mention a piece of data that everyone dare not imagine, that is the personal delivery data of couriers on Double Eleven. There is a salesman who delivers company parcels (the delivery address is the company). The company does not work on Saturdays and Sundays, so there will naturally be a backlog of express delivery. He delivered 707 parcels on Monday; another one delivers parcels to the community. One day His delivery volume reached 486 votes. Anyone who has experienced the express delivery industry should know that this data is indeed scary. During that time, you didn't need to rush them at all. When the salesmen found that their express mails were piled up one sack after another, they were more anxious than you.
