If we regard offering as a transaction, an equal exchange, and feel that we have provided for ourselves, Buddha and Bodhisattva must bless ourselves, then our delusion will be reversed and our merits will be greatly damaged. Offering before the Buddha is a clever and convenient way for all sentient beings to practice, rather than bribing each other between the secular.

Is it better to serve odd or even fruits before Buddha?

As for the number of fruit offerings, it is not explicitly mentioned in the classics. It is not necessary to be rigid, but solemn and beautiful. If there must be a number, or one or three or seven or twenty-one or forty-nine, and so on, it is digital notation. For example, there are four apples, one above and three below, that is, each layer is odd.

Matters needing attention in offering sacrifices before Buddha.

Flowers, fruits, food, tea and other offerings before the Buddha are consumables and must be replaced every day; If it is still edible, it should be used for other purposes, or eaten by family members and should not be abandoned; If it is rotten or corrupt, do garbage disposal. As for whether it is an odd or even offering, there is no limit, and it is even in terms of symmetry.
