Why do old Beijingers prefer living in the north to living in the south?

Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chongwen and Xuanwu, four old cities, have the saying that the east is expensive and the west is rich. Both the east and the west are in the north. In the past, dignitaries and wealthy businessmen in old Beijing lived here. Chongwen and Xuanwu are both ordinary people, so they will think it is good to live in the north.

Moreover, the development of Beijing is also relatively developed in the north. Driving around the Second Ring Road, you can see that the difference between the North Second Ring Road and the South Second Ring Road is obvious.

It is also said that the water in the south of Beijing is not as good as that in the north.

The above is the geographical location. As far as the house is concerned, there is a saying that "eat chicken and eat legs, and the house should face south". So is the quadrilateral. The north house facing south is the first house, which is obviously better.
