What are the allusions to Dongshan Town?
Luxiang Village in Dongshan Town
The ancient village of Luxiang is the hometown of Wang Hao, Tang Bohu’s teacher and the prime minister of the Ming Dynasty.
It is said that when the Southern Song Dynasty moved south, they passed through Taihu Lake and saw that the Dongshan Mountain stood in the lake. The scenery was beautiful and the war was not easy to get involved. A large number of officers, soldiers and their families settled by Taihu Lake in the back mountain, and six direct roads were built in the village. The alleys by the lake were named Lu Alley.
Another theory is that Wang Hao's mother's surname was Lu in the Ming Dynasty, and her village was named Luwang Village, which was later rumored to be Luxiang Village. To this day, Huihe Hall, Wang Hao’s former residence, is still intact in Luxiang. This huge mansion covering an area of 2,000 square meters is a typical representative of the official residence of the Ming Dynasty. At the end of the small street, there are three archways, namely: No. 1, No. 2, and Tanhua arch. This was built after Wang Hao won three yuan in a row. In the 1980s, people in Luxiang rebuilt it on the original site according to the old style. Although the wood used is new, the stone pillars are leftover from the old archway hundreds of years ago.
