Translation

It was just after a sunny rain that the willows on both sides of the bank were swaying and verdant. The water level on the river had just risen and it was as calm as a mirror. The girl was walking along the bank in a depressed mood. Suddenly, , a melodious song floats in the wind from the river. If you listen carefully, it turns out to be a love song of a lover who has not heard from him for a long time. The sun is shining brightly in the east and the rain is falling in the west. "Zhuzhi Ci" is a folk song from the Bayu area. When Liu Yuxi was serving as the governor of Kuizhou, he wrote more than ten lyrics based on the tune of this ballad, of which this one is the most famous.
