Queen Zhong's name

Rebellion in Wei Hou

The authoritarian chaos of Queen Webster of Tang Zhongzong, China.

Webster (? ~ 7 10), jingzhao wannian (now Chang' an, Shaanxi). In the first year of Hongdao (683), Zhongzong ascended the throne, and the next year he became the queen. In the same year, Zhongzong was deposed by Wu Zetian and moved to Zhoufang (now Fangxian County, Hubei Province), accompanied by Webster. In the first year of Shenlong (705), Zhongzong was restored. Every time he comes to North Korea, Wei Hou will sit in a temple with curtains and learn about political affairs in advance. Zhongzong appointed Zhao Rong (a female official in the palace), who was in charge of the documents for Wu Zetian, to preside over the writing of the imperial edict, with Wu Sansi as the prime minister. At that time, North Korea formed a Wu-Wei dictatorship group headed by Wei. Wu Sansi framed and persecuted Zhang Jianzhi, Jing Hui and other heroes who supported the restoration of Zhongzong through Wei Hou and his beloved daughter Princess Anle. Zhongzong executed those who exposed the scandals of Wu and Wei, so Wu Sansi seized power and ruled others. Li Zhongjun, the prince of Zhongzong, was not born by Webster and was hated by Hou Wei. Princess Anle and her husband Wu Chongxun (Wu Sansi) often insult Chongjun. In July of the third year of Shenlong, Chongjun launched some feather troops to kill Wu Sansi and Wu Chongxun and murdered Wei Ruyun and Princess Anle. Because the following feather army mutinied, the coup failed and Junjun was killed. The power of Wu Wei Group remains undiminished. At this time, floods and droughts occurred in the mainland, registered permanent residence fled, and people suffered. However, Zhongzong and Wei Hou indulged in debauchery, ignored state affairs, and executed those who wrote letters to report the chaotic politics in Wei Hou. It is said that in the fourth year of Jinglong (7 10), Wei Shi was afraid that his scandal would be exposed. Princess Anle wanted Wei Shi to come to the court and be the wife of the emperor, so she plotted to poison Zhongzong. Wei Hou was the regent of this dynasty, and made Li Zhongmao the emperor, known as Shaodi in history. Wei's children were appointed to command the official armies in the north and south, and they wanted to emulate Wu Zetian's usurpation. King Linzi (later Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty) and Princess Taiping (the daughter of Empress Wu Zetian) launched an imperial army to attack Miyagi, killing Queen Wei, Princess Anle, Shangguan Waner and all Wei's children, forcing the young emperor to step aside and let Li Dan (his father) be the king of the emperor. The rebellion in Wei Hou is finally over.

On May 23rd, the year of Heishengyuan (AD 684), several wagons were driving slowly on the country road from Zhou Jun (now Xunxian County, Hubei Province) to Fangling (now Fangxian County, Hubei Province). A young man sitting in the first carriage, with a sad face and glassy eyes, seems to have heavy worries and infinite worries. He is Tang Zhongzong Li Xian. After Wu Zetian proclaimed himself emperor, Li Xian was abolished as the king of Luling. He was exiled to the far south. At this time, Li Xian was in exile. He looked at the green vilen and deeply felt that the vibrant earth was so out of place with his mood. His wife Webster's car followed him. Thinking of his wife, Li Xian couldn't help looking back. Webster was accepted as a princess when he was a prince, and was made a queen in Shengyuan, and Zhongzong was abolished. She was also demoted and followed. During the journey, the car kept climbing over the fence, which added to her pain. Because she gave birth to a child on the road and had no time to prepare, Li Xian and Webster had to wrap the girl in their own clothes, so they named the child "the Wrapper". Unlike her parents, Wrapper often sleeps. There are several cars behind Webster, carrying their adult children, slaves and some things. Li Xian and Webster settled down after they arrived at Fangling.

Whenever he heard the news of the special envoy's arrival, Li Xian was always nervous and even wanted to commit suicide. However, Webster is more open-minded. She suggested that Li Xian said, "Happiness depends on misfortune, and misfortune always changes. Why do you want to think of death? You don't have to be so scared. " Li Xian and Webster have lived together for more than ten years, and the affection between husband and wife has deepened. Whenever night comes. Back to the life of the prince in the palace, he assured Webster that she would be happy in every way once she returned to the throne. Because Di Renjie, an old minister in the DPRK, often advised Wu Zetian to think more about the love between mother and child, Ji Xiang, Li Zhaode and other ministers also talked about relocating Li Xian, who was in his seventies, and he always thought about Li Xian, who was far away from home. Therefore, Li Xian returned to the first year of the Holy Calendar (AD 698).

One day, Wu Zetian summoned Emperor Renjie and talked about Li Xian, king of Luling. Di Renjie made a long speech, and tears welled up in his eyes. She was very excited. Wu Zetian sent someone to call Li Xian out of the curtain and push him to the emperor, saying, "I'll give it back to you, Chu Jun." When the emperor saw it, he hurried back to the stage and saluted while crying. After a while, Di Renjie said to Wu Zeda, "It is inevitable that the Prince will return to the palace, and no one knows about it. The grand ceremony publicly welcomed Li Xian into the palace from Longmen. All the officials are very happy about it. In the first year of Shenlong (AD 705), on the second day of the first month, Zhang Jianzhi, assistant minister of Fengge, Cui Xuanwei, assistant minister of Luantai, General Zuo Yulin (1), General You Yulin, and Chief Justice Yuan Chengwu were ill and attacked. Crown Prince Li Xian was invited to supervise the country. Seeing that the tide was gone, on the third day of the first month, Wu Ze gave way to Li Xian. On the fourth day of the first month, Li Xian is located in Tiantong Palace. Soon, he regained the title of Tang Dynasty, and all etiquette systems were restored to the old style during the reign of Emperor Gaozong Yongchun.

A few months later, 82-year-old Wu Zetian passed away. In this way, Tang Zhongzong Li Xi 'an became emperor for the second time, and Webster was made queen. During the second reign of Zhongzong, disasters occurred year after year. In April of the first year of Shenlong, there was a rainstorm and hail in Tongguan County (now Tongchuan, Shaanxi Province), which flooded more than 400 farmers and killed many birds. Three years of Shenlong (AD 707)

This summer, drought, hunger and death occurred in more than 20 states in Shandong and Hebei. However, for all this, Zhong Zong and Wei Hou didn't take it to heart. Wei Hou would say to Zhongzong: "We have had enough suffering for more than ten years, and now we are going to live a free life." With the encouragement of Wei Hou, Zhongzong ascended the throne in that year 1 1 month, and they went to the south gate building of Luoyang City to watch the cold. Northern conference semifinals waved naked and danced freely. Zhongzong and Wei Hou wore light fur clothes and worked tirelessly from morning till night. In February of the third year of Shenlong, Zhongzong, Wei Hou and the near minister boarded the Xuanwu Gate, watched the ladies-in-waiting party and drank and had fun. Wei Hou was still unhappy, and asked Zhongzong to order the ladies-in-waiting teams to fight each other to decide the outcome.

They also sent ladies-in-waiting to set up a market, so that officials or officials could pretend to be businessmen to trade. Because of unfair trade, ministers and ladies-in-waiting abused each other and their words were despicable. Zhongzong and Wei Hou both laughed after reading it. On the Lantern Festival in the first month of the fourth year of Shenlong (AD 708), Zhongzong and Wei Hou took off their robes of dragons and phoenixes, put on people's costumes, and led ministers to mingle with Chang 'an citizens to watch lanterns in the street in front of Huadu Temple. Thousands of ladies-in-waiting were released to watch the lights, and more than half of them ran away. In February, Zhongzong, Wei Hou and the princesses came to Liyuan Stadium in Jincheng (now Xingping, Shaanxi) to watch the tug-of-war. In March, they visited the Peach Blossom Spring. In April, I went to Sakura Taoyuan and Qin Long Pool, where I decorated lanterns and played boating. Zhongzong and Wei Hou really tasted the joy of being the eldest son. The drama tour between Zhongzong and Wei Hou, as well as the obedience of Zhongzong everywhere, made the state affairs more corrupt. Shortly after Zhongzong ascended the throne for the second time, at the request, he made his father Wei king. In this regard, Jia Xu, the minister, raised his objection by separating himself from his ancestors. It turns out that according to the rules of the imperial court, only people with the same surname as the emperor can be crowned king. However, Zhongzong didn't listen to Jia Xu at all. At this time, Zhongzong remembered his previous promise: Wei Hou can ask for anything as long as he is happy.

After the restoration of Zhongzong, Wu Zetian died, but Wu's influence in North Korea was still very strong. At this time, Wu Sansi, the nephew of Wu Zetian, was named King of Dejing County. He worshipped the third from the left and often rode horses. At first, Zhang Jian, Cui Xuanyong and others killed Zhang Yizhi, followed by Zhang Changzong, Xue Jichang and Mingzhou (now Yongnian, Hebei Province), who once said to Zhang Jian and others, "Although the two have been eradicated, Wu Sansi and his gang are still there. Zhang Jianzhi didn't listen to this opinion. Wu Sansi is clever and resourceful. When he saw Zhang Jianzhi and others handling Zhang Yizhi, he didn't take care of him for the time being. He got his son Wu Chongxun to marry Princess Anle, Wei Hou's youngest daughter, through various relationships, that is, to keep her son. In this way, Wu Sansi's position in North Korea was further consolidated. When Wu Zetian was alive, there was a woman named Shangguan Waner in the palace. Because she knows poetry and songs, she is very gentle. Wu Zetian loves her very much. After the restoration of Zhongzong, Shangguan Waner continued to gain trust and devoted herself to drafting orders. Soon, she was also worshipped as Zhao Rong (female official name). When Wu Zetian was alive, Shangguan Waner had an affair with Wu Sansi. After Wu Sansi and Wei Hou became their children's in-laws, the relationship between Wu Sansi and Wei Hou also developed into an abnormal state through the collusion of Shangguan Waner.

At this time, Wei Hou completely degenerated. Wu Sansi often entered the palace to play chess with Wei Hou, while Zhongzong stood by and watched. Sometimes Wu Sansi and Wei Hou sit on the dragon bed and play games, while Zhongzong stands by and gives ideas. People outside the court soon learned about these scandals. Wu 3412 days didn't enter the palace, Wei Hou let zhongzong to visit. Because of the collusion between Wu Sansi and Wei Hou, Zhongzong monitored what happened in Wei Hou and even North Korea.

Zhongzong's fatuity, Wei Hou's chaotic politics and Wu Sansi's favor made the DPRK minister Zhang Jianzhi and others very uneasy. They repeatedly advised Zhongzong to get rid of Wu Sansi, weaken Wu's power and strengthen the imperial power. However, at this time, Zhongzong will not listen to what they say anyway. Before that, Cui Jiao had advised Zhongzong, but Zhongzong didn't listen. Instead, he told Wu Sansi what he said. As a result. Cui Jiao was soon demoted. Wu Sansi knew that Zhang Jianzhi and others wanted to get rid of him. He made friends with his cronies, and Yu Shizhou used them: Ran, Guang Lucheng (3) Song Zhixun, Tai Shicheng (4) Li Jun. These five people were Wu Sansi's eyes and ears, and they were called "three dogs" at that time. The "five dogs" were given to Wu Sansi.

Faint zhongzong believed it and asked them what to do. Wei Hou and Wu Sansi suggested that Zhongzong establish five kings and take the method of lifting to seize their real power, and Zhongzong agreed. In this way, Zhongzong named Huan as king of Fuyang county, Jing Hui as king of Pingyang county, Zhang Jianzhi as king of Hanyang county, Cui Xuanyong as king of Boling county and Yuan as king of Nanyang county. Pommel horse These five ministers were appointed as You Chong. They actually seized power. Wu Sansi dominates the state affairs, and Webster is behind him, which is even more domineering. Anyone who opposed him was expelled from the capital, and anyone who worked for him was entrusted with a heavy responsibility. Soon, Wu Yisi thought the time was ripe, so he listed charges through Tang Zhongzong and issued imperial edicts on the grounds that five ministers framed Wei Hou. He exiled five ministers to distant frontiers. Jing Hui was exiled to Yazhou (now southeast of Haikou, Hainan Island) and murdered; Cui Xuanyong was imprisoned in Shirakawa (now Xibobai County), only halfway there; Zhang Jian was exiled to Xiangzhou (now Xiangfan, Hubei). He died of anger: Yuan Shu was exiled to Zhou Huan (now northeast of Guangzhou Hechi) and was driven crazy. Later, he was killed. After Wu Sansi colluded with Wei, he got rid of five ministers. His arrogance is even more arrogant. He once proudly said to his cronies, "I don't know what a good man is and what a bad man is." As long as he is good with me, he is good. " For a while, he raped.

Wei Hou's daughter Princess Anle is also an ambitious person. She is bent on becoming the second Wu Zetian. With the connivance of Wei Hou, she dominated the court, humiliated the ministers and did whatever she wanted, especially to her eldest son, Li Zhongjun. She once wrote a letter herself, covered the front part, and let Zhongzong seal the emperor. Zhong Zong smiled and agreed to her request. She thought she was Wei Hou's own daughter, Li Zhongjun. In order to replace the Crown Prince, Zuo Fu shot Wei and opposed Zhongzong. Princess Anle even said, "Yuan Zhong is a fool in Shandong and is not qualified to discuss state affairs. A Wuzi (the name of Wu Zetian in the palace) can still be a son of heaven, but the daughter of the son of heaven can't be an emperor? " Not only that, Princess Anle also suggested to Zhongzong that Kunming Pool (5) was her own private lake, and Zhongzong took it for herself.

Someone reported this situation to Yuan, the left captain. Yuan enforced the law impartially and arrested Princess Anle's slave. An Le Gong actually asked Zhongzong to order his release, and the weak Zhongzong actually agreed, so that Yuan said angrily, "Why make a fuss after the emperor did such a thing?" 】 "Princess Anle is bent on being the emperor's wife and son of heaven, and she is in cahoots with Wu Sansi and others, bringing disaster to the country and people, which makes her eldest son Li Zhongjun feel extremely threatened and deeply dissatisfied.

On July 11th, the third year of Shenlong, Li Zhongjun joined forces with Li Duozuo, the general of Yulin, and led 300 Yulin troops to attack Wu Sansi House, killing Wu Sansi's father and son and his family. Then, he led troops into the palace from Sumou Gate, trying to capture and kill Wu Sansi's accomplices Shangguan Waner, Princess Anle and Wei Ruyun alive. At this time, the banquet of Zhongzong had just ended. General Liu Yu-lin reported that the prince had rebelled, and hurriedly led Princess Anle and Shangguan Waner to the Xuanwu Gate. Because Liu mobilized the right-wing feather forest army, and others were outnumbered, and because Zhongzong issued an imperial edict on Xuanwu Gate, he announced the pardon of the insurgents. One hundred people started in Li Zhongjun, their hearts were shaken passively, and they lost their fighting spirit. As a result, Prince Li Zhongjun failed to attack Xuanwu Gate. Zuo Yulin's general Li Duozuo was killed by his men, and Li Zhongjun fled to Bu County (now Lu Xian County, Shaanxi Province). Princess Anle and Queen Wei are even more unscrupulous. Whenever Zhongzong came to the court to listen to politics, Queen Wei also sat behind the curtain of the court and gave instructions. In February of the first year of Jinglong (AD 709), Empress Wei claimed in her suitcase that there were five-color auspicious clouds rising on her skirt, and ordered the painter to draw this picture for the civil and military officials to see.

Wei Hou also instructed Xiao Wei, the right general who knew Tai Shigong, and Ye Jia ruled the middle school. The above table said: "At the beginning, Gao Zu did not claim to be the emperor, and the world sang' Taolizi'; Before he became emperor, the world song' Qin Wang broke the array music'; Before Emperor Gaozong became emperor, the world sang "side opening"; Before Emperor Tiandi proclaimed himself emperor, the world sang "Wu Meiniang", and before Emperor Tiandi ascended the throne, the world sang "Wang Shizhou in England" and "Mulberry Number", which shows people's hearts. Today, after the emperor's return to the heart and unify the whole country, I would like to enter twelve' mulberry songs', please announce them at home and abroad and enter Yuefu. " Zhongzong readily agreed. Therefore, this eulogized twelve mulberry songs after Wei. At this time, the former Xuzhou (now Xuchang, Henan) soldiers joined the army. (6) Yan Qinrong wrote to Zhongzong, accusing Wei Hou of interfering in state affairs, and Princess Anle of endangering the country, exposing their plot and warning the emperor that it was impossible to prevent. After reading Zhongzong, ask Yan Qinrong to go to court and ask him face to face. Yan Qinrong made a speech without fear. Zhongzong hesitated a lot and had nothing to say, so he temporarily asked Yan Qinrong.

Wei Hou and Princess Anle conspired to kill Tang Zhongzong. What to do next? Wei Hou didn't have a detailed plan in mind. In particular, she is even more uneasy when she thinks about what comments, speculations and accusations may be made about the death of Zhongzong. So Wei Hou didn't send out an obituary to inquire about the secret of Zhongzong, but first called his cronies into the palace to discuss the way to settle down. After discussion, they decided to talk to Pei, the minister of punishments. Stay in Du Dong: Tell General Sargingo (1) Zhao Chengen and General Xue Chongjian, the left guard, to lead 500 elite soldiers to Junchuan to guard against Wang Zhongfu's death. Li Zhongfu was in Zhongzong for two years. As early as when Zhongzong acceded to the throne, he was exiled to Zhou Jun because of Wei Hou's frame-up. He is in charge of local defense and is not allowed to ask about state affairs or come to Beijing.

Li Zhongmao is the fourth son of Emperor Zhong. In addition, Wei Hou also ordered 50,000 troops from all levels of government to be stationed in Beijing, with Wei Wen as the chief. The son of Wei Wen and Wei Hou's other brothers were divided into Jin Zuo, You Ying and Yu Lin to defend the palace, and everything was arranged properly. Wei Hou began to issue letters for the loyal emperor in the Taiji Hall, announcing the legacy system, and took charge of the state affairs in the near future. Three days later, sixteen-year-old Prince Li Zhongmao came to Chang 'an. Li Longji, the nephew of Zhongzong, staged a coup shortly after Webster came to Korea, killing Webster and his gang. What a sudden change!

Who is Li Longji and how did he plan the coup? Let's start from the beginning. The thirty years from Hongdao to Kaiyuan (2) was a turbulent period for the court of the Tang Dynasty. After Tang Gaozong's death, his son Li Xian succeeded to the throne, which was called Zhongzong in history.

Soon, Wu Zetian abolished Zhongzong and made Li Yue emperor, known as Zong Rui in history. Zhongzong and Zong Rui are brothers, that is, the seven sons and eight sons of Gaozong. Later, Wu Zetian proclaimed himself emperor and Zong Rui was abolished. At that time, the replacement of the throne was really like a lantern. In his later years, Wu Zetian was exhausted, heart failure, sickly, power transfer, and the restoration of Zhongzong. Zong Rui was made emperor and made king. Li Longji was born in Luoyang, the capital of the East, and was made King of Chu at the age of two. He was very clever when he was a child. It is said that when he was seven years old, he went to court (3). When Emperor Wu of Jin saw that his ceremonial procession was very neat, he became jealous and shouted at him, trying to confuse the procession. Seeing this, he came forward to reprimand Wu Shuo: My court is none of your business, and he dares to persecute me. Wu Zetian later heard that he was clever and brave. In the last few years of Zhongzong, there were many disturbances in the imperial court, and the people were in chaos. After seeing this, Li Longji privately contacted a group of talents as his own strength.

Later, Zhongzong died suddenly and came to North Korea. Wei Wen and others conspired to replace the surname Wei. At that time, a Taoist named Feng Daoli had a good relationship with Li Longji. One day, Feng Daoli came to Li Longji's house and said to him, "The place where you live is called Qin Long. Many people say that "dragon" means "dragon", and now Wei changed it to "Tang Long", which just fits your name. It's time for you to achieve imperial industry. " Li Longji was very happy after hearing this. He discussed with Princess Taiping how to get rid of Wei Hou. Princess Taiping is the youngest daughter of Emperor Gaozong and Li Longji's aunt. At that time, she was in her thirties, plump, dignified and quiet, full of tactics, much like Wu Zetian. When Wu Zetian was alive, she was often asked to participate in the discussion of confidential events, and every time she was told that the palace was strict and not allowed to go out and leak secrets. In this way, Princess Taiping gradually developed.

Wu Zetian has been in power for more than 20 years, and there are so many relatives, and Princess Taiping enjoys peace alone. She didn't participate in the accident, and she didn't lament from glory to humiliation, from rising to falling. Her father was an emperor, because her husband was a prince and her son was a county king, which was extremely expensive. In Wu Zetian's later years, when Zhongzong was restored, Princess Taiping participated in the action to get rid of Zhang Yizhi, won the meritorious service of Zhongzong, and was named Zhongzong. Living near the house, ten steps and one post, five steps and one whistle, is similar to the palace. In view of Princess Taiping's wit and pivotal position in the imperial court, Ji Longji's first thought when considering getting rid of Wei was to discuss with Princess Taiping. Princess Taiping approved of Li Longji's coup plan and sent her son Xue Chongjian as Li Longji's assistant. One day, Li Longji and Xue Chongjian, Liu Youqiu, Ma Sizong and Ge Fushun.

Most of these people, except Purun, a monk from Changbao Temple, are generals of the imperial court. During the discussion, it was suggested that the implementation of the action plan should be agreed by Wang Xiang, the father of Li Longji, Li Dan. To this, Li Longji expressed different opinions. He said categorically: I saved the national crisis and dealt with your father's anxiety. If this matter succeeds, it will be a blessing to the country. If it fails, it will be lucky for the country. What is it necessary for my father to know first? Moreover, if I ask my father for instructions, he agrees to do so. This is to let my father take part in dangerous activities. What shall we do if he doesn't agree? In the final analysis, asking my father for instructions has both advantages and disadvantages. After careful discussion, everyone finally agreed with Li Longji. On the night of June 20th, the first year of Tang Long (AD 7 10), Liu Youqiu, Zhong Shaojing and others rushed into Xuanwu Gate and attacked and killed General Lin. Takamatsu, corps commander and so on, then cut off the gate and rushed into the harem. Zuo Wanqi (4) entered from the left, and right Wanqi entered from the right, and finally met in front of Lingyan Pavilion. At that time, the guards of Emperor Zhong Zongzi, who were in front of the Taiji Hall, heard the shouting and killing, all dressed up and went into battle. At that time, there was a clash of swords and guns in the harem, candlelight shone and killing was endless. It's no use.

Webster's followers Princess Anle and Shangguan Waner were beheaded one after another. After the palace coup, Li Longji immediately went to see his father, King Li Dan, and asked for forgiveness for not asking in advance. King Xiang quickly hugged Li Longji and said with tears: Thanks to my son, the national crisis was eliminated and the people's unrest was calmed down. The next day, King Li Dan and the young emperor Li Zhongmao boarded the Anfumen Tower. Later, Li Longji was promoted to Wang Ping, Xue Chongjian was promoted to King Li Jiejun, Zhong Shaojing was promoted to Assistant Minister Zhongshu, and Liu Youqiu was promoted to Sheren Zhongshu, all of whom participated in government affairs. In addition, messengers were sent to Zhou Jun to express condolences to Li Tongfu of Wang Qiao. A few days later, Li Zhongmao, a young emperor, issued an imperial edict, which read: "Uncle Wang Xiang, the son of Emperor Gaozong, once surrendered to the world. I retired to my old home. " As a result, Prime Minister Li Dan became emperor again, still known as Tang Ruizong. Li Zhongmao, the young emperor, was named King Wen and Prince. Zong Rui changed to Jingyun in this year.

Zong Rui * * has six sons, the eldest son Li Xian, the second son Li Chengyi, the third son Li Longji, the fourth son Li Longfan, the fifth son Li and the sixth son Li Longti (6). Except for the premature death of the sixth son, the relationship between the other five sons has always been harmonious and faithful. It is said that Li Longji once made a big pillow and a big quilt, and five brothers got into it.

It was June of the first year of Yanhe (AD 7 12). I don't know where the rumor came from, saying, "According to the astrology, the emperor is in trouble and the crown prince should be in office." Obviously, the purpose of making this rumor is to sow discord between Zong Rui and Prince Li Longji. Who knows, Zong Rui didn't get angry after hearing this, but said, "I can avoid disaster by spreading morality. My mind is made up." By July. Knowing this, Li Longji went to worship Zong Rui, kowtowing and crying, but was rejected. Zong Rui said to him calmly, "I can become emperor for the second time because of your work. Now according to the astrology, the throne is in disaster and I want to abdicate to avoid disaster. Only virtue and great honor can turn disaster into pleasure. It's a little late to pass on the throne to you now. Why do you have to refuse? " Had to nod. In this way, he claimed to be the emperor's father and passed the throne to Li. Except for military and political events, Li Longji can decide whether to award or punish officials below the third rank. Li Longji is the Tang Xuanzong in history. Just when the throne was handed over peacefully and the imperial court was calm, suddenly another hurricane fell from the sky.

This is a bigger mess. Princess Taiping is the chief culprit in this mess. It turned out that Princess Taiping became arrogant after assisting the coup and getting rid of Wei. Her countryside is getting bigger and bigger, including almost all the fertile fields near Beijing. The utensils in her palace are becoming more and more exquisite and diverse, and all the people who buy them for her are in Sichuan. The roads in Jiangnan and Lingnan are endless. The ceremonial chariots and horses she used were no different from those used by the emperors in the palace. Hundreds of young men accompanied her, all dressed in Luo Qi. As for the elderly women, there are thousands more. Countless toys such as dogs and horses were given to her all over the country. In addition, Princess Taiping's private life is getting worse and worse. At that time, her husband Wu just died. There was a monk named Fan Hui, and his family was very rich. He has a lot of treasures and is very good at buttering up powerful people. Therefore, Princess Taiping is in cahoots with him. Princess Taiping fought for the position of the main temple of the Holy Mountain Temple for Fan Hui monks when she was in Xuanzong, and added the doctrine to seal the Qi Huangong. Not only that, Princess Taiping's interference in national political affairs also made Xuanzong intolerable. She has connections inside, even a prince outside, and has designed different plans. There were seven prime ministers in North Korea at that time.

A man named Xiao Zhizhong, because he was attached to Princess Taiping, was promoted from a state official to a minister of punishments and a secretary of the legal department. He went in and out of Princess Taiping's mansion at will, surrounded the princess in the morning and evening, and became a loyal servant of the princess. Chang and Li Ci, who are in charge of the palace, often pay tribute to Princess Taiping in private. On July 3rd, the year after his birth (AD 773), the minister left. Zhou Yong Li Jin, General Chang Yuankai of Zuo Yulin and General Li Ci of You Yulin were called by Princess Taiping to plot in the Princess Palace. It was agreed that the next day, July 4th, there would be an insurrection, a coup d' é tat, the overthrow of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty and the establishment of Princess Taiping as emperor. However, this conspiracy was soon discovered by Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty. Late at night on July 3, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty issued a secret order to carve up the king. Put more than 200 idle horses and servants in the stable, and led a dozen cronies in Taibu Temple, such as Li, Gao Lishi, Guo Shoude, and so on. They went out of Wude Gate and entered the gate. By surprise, they killed Chang Yuankai and Li Ci at the north gate of the palace and captured Xiao Zhizhong, Cenyi and others alive. One by one, these people's brains have been softened. Princess Taiping found that things were not good.

The goods seized from Princess Taiping's home are piling up, and the rare treasures are almost the same as those in the palace. Land and livestock are scattered in many places and have not been collected for several years. Hundreds of millions of properties were also seized in the home of Fan Hui monks, whom Princess Taiping loved. The day after the coup plot of Princess Taiping was crushed, Zong Rui joyfully issued an imperial edict, announcing that all rights were completely handed over to Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, but he himself was arrogant. In this way, Tang Xuanzong completely mastered the power of the country. This year1February, his political title was "Kaiyuan". At the beginning of Tang Xuanzong's reign, he attached great importance to good governance. In order to better manage the country, he made Yao Chong the prime minister. Yao Chong served as the minister of war in Tang Ruizong period, but was exiled to Tongzhou (now Dali, Shaanxi Province) as a secretariat for offending Princess Taiping.

It is said that when Yao Chong was called to Chang 'an, the capital, it happened that Emperor Xuanzong was hunting in the suburbs. Xuanzong asked Yao Chong, "Can you hunt?" Yao Chong replied, "I used to chase animals on horseback when I was in my twenties, and then I went to school. Although I am old now, I can still ride horses and shoot arrows. " Xuanzong asked him to take part in hunting activities, and Yao Chong really agreed. Xuanzong was very happy and made him prime minister, but Yao Chong shirked it.

When Xuanzong asked about ten major events, Yao Chong put forward: "The first thing is to govern the country with benevolence, without severe punishment; Second, within ten years, we will not fight against foreign countries; Third, eunuchs are not allowed to interfere in state affairs; Fourth, the national prestige of the royal family should not occupy an important position in the court; Fifth, the princes broke the law and committed the same crime as the people; Sixth, in addition to rent, no additional collection is allowed; Seventh, don't worship Buddha or build a Buddhist temple; Eighth, treat the minister with courtesy; Ninth, courtiers are allowed to express different opinions; Tenth, it is forbidden for foreign relatives to interfere in political affairs. " After hearing this, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty agreed, and Yao Chong assumed the responsibility of prime minister. After nearly 30 years of court turmoil, better cooperation began between Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty and Yao Chong, and the history of the Tang Dynasty entered a period of "Kaiyuan Shi Sheng".
