How did the typhoon in China form?
Formation of typhoon: In the tropical ocean of the South Pacific, seawater is directly exposed to sunlight and easily evaporated into water vapor. So compared with land, the temperature and air humidity above the ocean are much higher. This kind of air expands due to high temperature, resulting in lower density and weight, while the wind near the equator is weak, easy to rise and convection occurs. At the same time, the surrounding cold air flows in to replenish and then rises again. This cycle makes the whole gas column hotter and heavier. The air flows from high pressure to low pressure, and the air with higher pressure around it flows to low pressure, which forms the wind. When the convection in the air becomes stronger and stronger, the vortex deepens and the surrounding air flows faster and faster, the wind will become stronger and stronger. When the wind speed reaches or exceeds17.2m per second, a typhoon is formed.
