The origin of Yu’s method of matching acupoints
From "The Sixty-Seven Difficulties" is a prose written by Bian Que, a medical scientist during the Warring States Period.
In clinical practice, Shu and Hui acupoints of diseased organs are often used together to exert their synergistic effect. This is the method of matching Shu and Hui acupoints, which is a typical example of the before-and-after matching method.
The Yu point is a point on the lower back on the first lateral line of the bladder meridian; the Rei point is located in the chest and abdomen, so it is also called the "Abdominal Rei point". Since the Beishu acupoint and the Rei acupoint are both the places where the Qi of the zang-fu organs is infused and converged, their distribution is generally close to the upper and lower arrangement of the corresponding zang-fu organs. Therefore, they are mainly used to treat diseases and syndromes of the related zang-fu organs.
Bian Que was considered a miracle doctor because of his superb medical skills, so people at that time called him by the name of "Bian Que", the miracle doctor of the Yellow Emperor in ancient mythology. The imperial doctor of Qin, Li Xi, was jealous of his inferior skills and had him assassinated. Bian Que established the pulse diagnosis method of traditional Chinese medicine and pioneered traditional Chinese medicine. He is the author of the traditional Chinese medicine classic "Difficult Classics".
