Why does it rain every day in Kangding?
According to geographical latitude, Kangding should belong to subtropical climate. Due to the complex terrain and obvious vertical differences, a unique plateau continental monsoon climate has been formed. It often rains, with an annual precipitation of 800-950 mm and a frost-free period of 150-250 days, which belongs to a cool temperate climate in mountainous areas.
Kangding city is located in the transition zone between the mountains on the western edge of Sichuan Basin and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and its terrain is inclined from west to east. Haizi Mountain, Zheduo Mountain and Gongga Mountain in the middle section of Daxue Mountain run through the whole county from north to south, and are divided into two parts: the eastern part is alpine canyon, and most peaks are over 5000 meters. The highest point in the city is 7556 meters above sea level (the main peak of Gongga Mountain, the first peak in Tianfu), and the lowest point is 1.390 meters above sea level (Dadu River). Lucheng Street, where the municipal party committee and municipal government are located, is 25,600 meters above sea level. The west and northwest are hilly plateau and high mountain and deep valley areas.
