He is now a professor at the School of Architecture of Tianjin University, an urban planning expert, and a national first-class registered architect.

In 1963, he wrote the first rural planning research report paper, which discussed the application of Feng Shui in rural layout planning and recognized the scientific nature and importance of Feng Shui.
