Is Shichahai and Houhai the same place?
Shichahai includes three waters, namely Qianhai, Houhai and Xihai (also known as Jishuitan) and its adjacent areas. Echoing the "first three seas", it is commonly known as "the last three lakes". Shichahai also wrote "Ten Tea Seas", and there are ten Buddhist temples around it, so it is called this.
Since the Qing Dynasty, it has become a place for recreation and summer vacation, and it is one of the scenic spots in Yanjing. Many ancient buildings in Shichahai Scenic Area occupy an important position in Beijing's urban construction history and political and cultural history. The main representatives are Gongwangfu and Garden, Soong Ching Ling's former residence and Chunwangfu, Guo Moruo Memorial Hall, Bell and Drum Tower, Deshengmen Arched Tower, Guanghua Temple, Huitong Temple and Huixiantang.
