Climatic characteristics of Chengdu
The climate characteristics of Chengdu are: 1, cloudy and short sunshine time; 2. The air is humid. Chengdu has a subtropical monsoon climate, with early spring, hot summer, cool autumn and warm winter. The annual average temperature is 16℃, and the annual rainfall is about 1000 mm. Although the temperature in Chengdu is not high in summer, it looks sultry. The average temperature in winter is above 5℃, but it looks very cold because of cloudy days and humid air. The rain in Chengdu is concentrated in July and August, and there is less rain and less ice and snow in winter and spring. What are the characteristics of the climate in Chengdu?
Chengdu is located in the subtropical monsoon climate zone, which is rich in heat and rainfall, with four distinct seasons and both rain and heat. Except for some mountainous areas on the northwest edge, most areas in Chengdu have the following climatic characteristics: no heat in summer, less snow and ice in winter, mild climate, long frost-free period in summer, more rain in autumn and night, low wind speed, high humidity, more clouds and less sunshine. Chengdu Topography Chengdu is located in the western edge of Sichuan Basin, and its topography inclines from northwest to southeast. The western part belongs to the marginal area of Sichuan basin, mainly in deep mountains and hills, with an altitude of1000 ~ 3000m. The highest point is located in the University Hall (Miaojiling) in Xiling Town, Dayi County, with an altitude of 5364 meters. The eastern part belongs to the basin-bottom plain of Sichuan Basin, which is formed by alluvial rivers such as Minjiang River and Yujiang River. It is the center of Chengdu Plain, mainly composed of plains, terraces and some low hills. The altitude is generally about 750 meters, and the lowest is on the bank of Tuojiang River in jianyang city, with an altitude of 359 meters.
Due to the huge vertical height difference, Chengdu has formed a unique landform type of one-third plain, one-third hill and one-third mountain. Due to the obvious climate differentiation, a vertical climate zone with obvious heat difference has been formed, so there are many kinds, complete categories and relatively concentrated distribution of biological resources in this area.
