Design Comparison of Sandplay Area in Kindergarten
1. Location of the sand pool: First, the location of the sand pool should be set in the leeward position to prevent the sand in the sand pool from being lifted by the wind. Secondly, try to put it in a sunny place. Strong sunlight can sterilize sand. Secondly, the sand pool should be located near the faucet or water tank to facilitate water intake. Finally, if the sand pool has a place to block the sun, it will make them more comfortable to play.
2. Specification of sand pool: The area of sand pool should be at least 1㎡ for each child's activities. If children in the same class are used at the same time, the area should not be less than 30m2. If we want to meet the children's excavation needs and give full play to their creativity, the depth of the sand pool is suggested to be around 0.6m.
3. Shapes of sand pools: Shapes of sand pools in kindergartens can be varied, such as squares, prototypes or irregular shapes. But for the sake of beauty, use and safety, the corners formed by the edge of the sand pool should be made into circular arcs, and the edges should be softened. Hard materials such as stones can be replaced by tires or wooden materials. In addition, the periphery of the sand pool generally needs to be higher than the elevation of the sand pool to avoid sand passing through, but considering that the edge of the sand pool is also a place for children to rest when playing, it should not be too high.
4. Sand selection: Soft natural yellow sand should be selected for sand selection in kindergarten sand pools, and it must be screened to ensure that it does not contain substances with potential safety hazards such as sharp stones. In addition, avoid using white sand and prohibit using industrial sand. Although the white sand is easier to clean than the yellow sand, the white sand is large and lacks viscosity and plasticity when it meets water, which will make the sand playing area lose some educational functions.
