Cultivation measures of Cymbidium hybridum 2006-1-2717: 43: 40 Cymbidium hybridum is loved by people for its magnificent planting posture and huge flowers. At present, most of the cymbidium in the Spring Festival are imported from South Korea, and the price is relatively high. In fact, the cultivation difficulty of Cymbidium hybridum is not higher than other orchids. As long as we know its habits and give corresponding measures, we can successfully cultivate it. Cymbidium hybridum is a hybrid orchid. Some people say that cymbidium is not related by blood and should not be called cymbidium. There are also different opinions about whether China and Tibet are related by blood. Because it is a hybrid orchid, there are often great differences in botanical characters and requirements for ecological environment between varieties due to different hybrid parents. According to the size of flowers, they can be divided into big flowers, medium flowers and small flowers. According to its natural flowering period, it can be divided into early flowering period, middle flowering period, late flowering period and summer and autumn flowering period. The colors of flowers are varied, ranging from crimson to white, from yellow and green to two kinds of compound colors. Cymbidium hybridum has strong adaptability to temperature, can grow at 10-35℃, and can withstand short-term ultra-high temperature of 48℃ and short-term low temperature of 0℃. Therefore, in Guangdong, many places do not need to spend a lot of investment to build heating and cooling equipment. But 20-30℃ during the day and 8-20℃ at night are most suitable for its growth. The suitable light intensity for growth is 15000-70000 lux, which is about half of the natural light intensity. It is an orchid with high light intensity requirements. Under suitable illumination, the plant grows vigorously, with tall and straight plant type, short and wide leaves, thick leaves, green and yellow leaves, full pseudobulb, high flowering rate, many flowers and bright colors. If the light intensity is too weak for a long time, the photosynthetic efficiency is not high, the plants are malnourished, the plants are white and long, the leaves are slender, thin and soft, and the outward bending angle is large, which lacks luster, and finally the number of flowers decreases. Blue shed cultivation generally uses a single layer of 50%-70% shading net to shade, and it is not necessary to shade in the weak light season in winter and spring. It requires high air humidity, the best humidity is 80%-90%, and too low air humidity is not conducive to growth and development. Breeding places can increase air humidity by spraying, setting pools and placing pots. However, Cymbidium hybridum is semi-gas-producing, so the cultivation material can't accumulate water, and the accumulated water causes anoxia and suffocation at the roots. Therefore, the planting materials should have good ventilation and drainage, and at the same time have good water and fertilizer conservation to meet their requirements for more water and fertilizer. Generally, one or more of bark, crab root, charcoal, water moss, coconut shell, ceramsite, volcanic rock and other materials are used as mixed planting materials. The slight wetness of plant materials is most suitable for its growth requirements. In management, watering measures should not be determined by time, but by plants, planting materials, weather and other factors. When the planting materials are dry, water them, and then thoroughly water them, so that dirty air and harmful substances can be discharged with the water. Cymbidium hybridum can be propagated by dividing plants, but the efficiency of dividing plants in commercial production is not high, so tissue culture is often used for propagation. It is best to choose tissue culture seedlings after adaptive culture for 60 days, with 3-5 strong roots, 5 healthy leaves and normal leaf color. There are many varieties of Cymbidium hybridum, which have different requirements for flowering environment. A few varieties can bloom normally in Guangdong's general natural environment. It takes about 50 days for most varieties to complete flower bud differentiation when the temperature difference between day and night is 10- 15℃ and the maximum daily temperature is lower than 28℃. From flower bud differentiation to flowering, it is necessary to complete the flower development process in a relatively cool environment. Cultivated varieties should be selected according to their own production conditions to avoid failure. If the cultivation facilities can meet the requirements of flower bud differentiation and flower development, there will be greater flexibility in variety selection and ideal effect in flowering regulation. To cultivate Cymbidium hybridum, just like other flowers, choose pots of corresponding size according to the size of seedlings, and then change them into larger pots as needed when the seedlings grow up. When changing pots, take the plants and plant materials out of the pots, remove the old plant materials, cut off the bad roots, soak the roots in 0. 1% potassium permanganate solution for 20 minutes, dry in the shade, wrap them with clear water moss, put them into a new pot, and add the plant materials until only pseudobulb is exposed. Last year's tillering seedlings can blossom this year. Generally, tissue culture seedlings will not bloom until the fourth year. As a commercial production, in the fourth year, the 3-year-old plants were replanted for the last time, and the withered pseudobulb was removed. According to the requirements of commercial specifications, the pots were replenished and the buds were sparse, so that the nutrients were concentrated on the big bulbs, which was beneficial to flowering. The method is that from the beginning of the year to 10, only 1-2 new buds are left on each bulb, and redundant new buds are removed at any time. Cymbidium hybridum is tall and needs more fertilizer, and liquid fertilizer 1 time is applied every week; Apply organic solid fertilizer 1 time every month. The ratio of NPK fertilizer is: young seedling 2: 1: 2, middle seedling1:1:0/and big seedling 1: 2. Stop applying nitrogen fertilizer half a year before flowering, so as to promote the plant from vegetative growth to flowering.
