Pingtan is long in summer and short in winter, warm and humid, cool in summer and warm in winter, with little frost and snow. The temperature in spring is lower than that in autumn. The annual average temperature 19.6℃ and the coldest daily average temperature 10.2℃. The average temperature on the hottest day is 27.9℃. The rainy season and the hot season are the same, and the dry season and the rainy season are completely different. The average annual precipitation 1 172 mm and evaporation 1300 mm are one of the rainy areas in Fujian province. The monsoon is obvious, with southerly winds in summer and northeast winds in other seasons. The annual average wind speed is 6.9 m/s, and the number of gale days (above magnitude 7) is 125, which is one of the gale areas in Fujian Province. High temperature and drought from July to September are often affected by tropical storms, with an average of 6.3 times a year. Meteorological disasters are mainly typhoons, strong winds, heavy rains and droughts. The probability of summer drought is as high as 54%, which is the highest in Fujian Province.
