Taboos in Jingzhe Feng Shui
1. Dressing. The weather gets warmer during the Jingzhe season, but the temperature difference between day and night is very large during the Jingzhe season, and the phenomenon of "late spring cold" often occurs before and after the Jingzhe period. Especially on rainy days, exposed limbs can easily cause local numbness, soreness and other symptoms, which may lead to arthritis. Therefore, we must pay attention to keeping warm and cold, focusing on "covering".
2. Diet. Jingzhe is the only solar term among the twenty-four solar terms that does not emphasize "replenishment" but "prevention". Around the time of the Waking of Insects, the weather gradually becomes warmer. In terms of diet, the diet should be mainly light and mild, and should be in harmony with the nature of the liver, help the spleen, and make the five internal organs peaceful. On the day of Jingzhe, people pay attention to eating pears. Eating pears can help the spleen and strengthen the body to resist the invasion of germs. In terms of daily diet and health care, it is recommended to eat more light foods that are high in plant protein and rich in vitamins. For example: spring bamboo shoots, spinach, bitter melon, yam, lotus seeds, white fungus, etc.
3. Prohibition of marriage. According to folk customs, during the period before and after the Waking of Insects, the Thunder Society often goes out to do business, and thunder often rumbles. Therefore, marriages in the human world are prohibited during this period. Anyone who violates this will be punished by Thunder God and the marriage will not go smoothly. Therefore, even if there is a good time to get married, many people will not hold weddings at this time.
4. "Hit the villain" to drive away bad luck. The Waking of Insects symbolizes the beginning of February. There will be a thunderous sound to wake up all hibernating snakes, insects, rats, and ants. The reptiles and ants in the home will rise up again in response to the sound and look for food everywhere. Therefore, in ancient times, on the day of the Waking of Insects, people would hold scented incense and mugwort and smoke them in the four corners of their homes to drive away snakes, insects, mosquitoes, rats and musty smells. Over time, it gradually evolved into the habit of slapping those who are unhappy with their enemies and driving away bad luck. It is also the predecessor of "beating the villain".
