The heritage of Liancun
Elegant and neat ancient official roads, majestic ancient city walls, moss-stained ancient road monuments, and stately ancestral halls, every brick, stone, plant and tree in Lian Village exudes a sense of tranquility and tranquility. A calm and solemn atmosphere. Although this well-known Jinshi village is quietly hidden in the mountains and rivers of eastern Fujian, every scene and thing here reflects the glory accumulated in this ancient village over the long years.
The official roads in the village are criss-crossed. The ancient official roads are made of stone strips and stones carefully assembled into figures such as Bagua, Tai Chi, and wheat ears, leading you into the once prosperous place. Lian Village, formerly known as Shijijin, is 15 kilometers southwest of Fu'an City. The ancestor Xue Lingzhi studied diligently and became the first Jinshi in Fujian Province. He was praised by Emperor Suzong of the Tang Dynasty for his upright, honest and self-sufficient character, and his village was named "Lian Village". The water was "Lianshui" and the ridge was "Lianling". ". Since then, the culture of Lian Village has gradually formed an atmosphere. Under the mutual influence of cultural exchanges and the inheritance of poetry and calligraphy in the village, it has finally become a scene where talents have emerged one after another in the village for hundreds of years. From the third year of Daguan in the Song Dynasty to the first year of Baoyou in the Song Dynasty, there were 17 consecutive Jinshis in Lian Village. On average, one person passed the Jinshi every ten years. In particular, Chen Xiong had five Jinshis in one discipline. His father, son, and brothers both ascended to the top, and his glory was outstanding. Famous for a while. I recall those days when gongs and drums were beating loudly, crowns and canopies were gathered, and villagers on both sides of the official road lined the road to welcome the civil servants and military generals returning home in splendid glory. The scene was so spectacular.
The ancient houses, ancient ancestral halls, ancient screens and ancient banyan trees left behind for future generations to admire. The high-hanging plaques in the ancestral hall, the lifelike wooden screens, and the majestic stone lions sitting in front of the hall all tell the story of the family's former prominence. When you open the door of a former high-class mansion, you will see an old man with wrinkles on his face holding the wooden door with peeling red paint. A frozen scene tells the vicissitudes of history. This ancient residence was rebuilt on the site of the former residence of Wu Jinshi. On the gatehouse are written the four characters "Look at the clouds in the sun". Only with such grand ambitions can it be possible to write such a legend of a scholarly family.
There is traffic on the streets, and chickens and dogs hear each other. Outside the village, an ancient city wall about 1,200 meters long surrounds Lian Village. It is surrounded by vines and covered with moss and stands tall. For hundreds of years, with this stubborn attitude, it has protected the peace and tranquility of Lian Village during those years of gunfire, allowing the culture of Lian Village to be continued and developed. The ancient wharf outside the village was once a water and land hub and material distribution center connecting northeastern Fujian and southern Zhejiang. It was prosperous for a while. However, these have disappeared with the flowing water, leaving only the cobblestone steps more than 5 meters wide, which are paved in steps. Stretching into the stream, it proves the prosperity of the past when "sea boats and fish products were collected, connecting the counties of Jianning Prefecture from far away, and the county and villages nearby".
It has passed away, but what remains is this culture, this precipitation, and this emotion. In Lian Village, the dazzling light that cannot be concealed is still shining in the remains over the years, which is fascinating.
