I don't want to bend over to the children in the village for five buckets of rice. What does this mean?
Brief introduction of Tao Yuanming
Tao Yuanming was a famous poet and writer in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. When I was young, I had the political ambition of "assisting the monarch to establish a career", but because the gentry controlled the political power and the politics was dark, although I had the ambition, I could not realize it.
In the late Eastern Jin Dynasty, the struggle for power and profit within the ruling class intensified, and peasant uprisings broke out one after another. In this turbulent era, in Chaisang, Xunyang, Jiangxi, there was a famous poet named Tao Qian, also known as Tao Yuanming, who lived in seclusion in his hometown because he didn't like the political corruption at that time. Speaking of Tao Yuanming, many people will naturally think of his literary artistic conception of "picking chrysanthemums under the hedge, leisurely seeing Nanshan" and "building a house in a human environment, but there are no horses and chariots", and the most popular poem is Peach Blossom Spring. In it, he showed the world a paradise where "spring silkworms gather silk and autumn ripens without paying the king's tax", and everyone was "happy", expressing people's reverie of a better world. In addition to his literary achievements, Tao Yuanming is an honest official who cares about the sufferings of the people and would rather starve to death than kneel for Wudoumi.
Tao Yuanming's great-grandfather was Tao Kan, a famous player in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Although he is a big official, he is not a big landlord of the cremation. By the time Tao Yuanming was born, his family had declined. When Tao Yuanming was eight years old, his father died, leaving orphans and widows, and life was quite difficult. Influenced by his grandfather Meng Jia, Tao Yuanming laid a solid foundation of Confucian classics from an early age. There are five willows in front of his house, so he gave himself an individual name, called "Mr. Wuliu".
Tao Yuanming started teaching for a living, so he met many officials in Xunyang County. At this time, his literary talent gradually emerged. An essay "Leisure Fu" was copied by a friend and spread to Wang Ningzhi, the secretariat of Jiangzhou at that time. After reading Leisure Fu, Wang Ningzhi appreciated his writing and invited him to Jiangzhou for a drink. This don't drive a drink offering is also a senior official in the state. If Tao Yuanming tries to climb up from now on, the future is limitless. But it's really hard to do this kind of ritual drinking without opening it. There are so many things to worry about that some people start giving him gifts. Tao Yuanming is an incorruptible person and does not advocate vanity. How can he accept bribes from others? But the whole yamen has been receiving gifts all the time, and now it's suddenly so different, and everyone doesn't like him. Gradually, Tao Yuanming felt it himself, so he decided not to stay in this filthy Jiangzhou secretariat.
This is the season of sowing and transplanting. According to the usual practice, the state should send people down to persuade farmers, that is, supervise sowing and transplanting. Tao Yuanming thought of the fields and young crops in spring, that he could leave the government for a few days and breathe fresh air, so he proposed to go down to earth with others. This kind of work to persuade farmers is nothing, and everyone doesn't want to go, so naturally they are happy to let him go. On that day, Tao Yuanming came to the ridge of the field and saw an old farmer with gray hair and dark skin transplanting rice in the paddy field. He was out of his wits. The old man turned around and saw several officials looking at him, so he straightened up and came to talk.
"Grandpa, you are still transplanting rice at such a big age?"
"Yes, police officer, many hands help many hands, or you will miss the solar terms and the result will be bad."
"Yes," Tao Yuanming turned to his entourage and sighed, "If every family is like this old man, will the harvest be bad?"
"Hey, what's the use of a good harvest?" The old farmer took the woman, "how many can eat into his mouth? These years, taxes are getting heavier every year, and life really can't be lived. If we catch up with floods, droughts and wars again, the whole family will have to flee for food. "
Tao Yuanming was silent and had no taste in his heart. When I returned to the government office, I immediately wrote a poem "Poetry of Encouraging Agriculture": "I was born in ancient times, proud and self-sufficient, honest and sincere ... I dare not accept it, I praise Germany and America." In this poem, Tao Yuanming emphasizes that food is the first thing for the people and agriculture is the foundation of the country, which is what saints do themselves. He seems to be warning farmers, but he is actually warning the rulers: don't think that farming is worthless, and it is shameful to get something for nothing! Ancient sages and hermits were still working in the fields, and how can we sentient beings do nothing when we take off our clothes? Later, I wrote a song, "Frost and dew surround the mountains, and the atmosphere is cold first.". Isn't this difficult for Tian Jia? " In the poem "Life is Hard", he expressed his deep sympathy for the working people.
The life of ordinary people is so bitter, but Wang Ningzhi, the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China, is building a Taoist temple at the moment, and the money used to strengthen the dike at the Yangtze River estuary has been misappropriated. Tao Yuanming was in a hurry when he heard the news, and immediately went to persuade the secretariat to dispel this idea, but the secretariat did not listen at all. Tao Yuanming felt that staying in the imperial court for a while was also a kind of pain, so he immediately resigned and returned to his hometown.
The local government heard that Tao Yuanming was a descendant of a famous soldier and a literary talent, so it recommended him to join the army under Emperor Wu of Song. But not long after, he saw that the officials were in conflict with each other. He was annoyed and asked to go out as a local official. The boss sent him to Pengze (now Jiangxi Province) as a county magistrate.
