Is Zhangjiajie part of the mountains and rivers?

Zhangjiajie does not belong to mountains and rivers.

Zhangjiajie belongs to the Zhangjiajie landform in terms of landform characteristics. The Zhangjiajie landform development process is complete. The evolution process from platform → square mountain → stone wall → stone pillar → canyon is clear, and the development time factor is highly measurable. It is systematic, complete, natural, rare and typical in the sandstone landform landscape. It was included in the "World Natural Heritage List" by UNESCO in 1992 and among the first batch of World Geoparks in 2004. Zhangjiajie can be used as a typical place to study sandstone landforms.

In November 2010, the International Academic Symposium on Zhangjiajie Sandstone Landform identified Zhangjiajie’s distinctive and large-scale unique sandstone landform type as “Zhangjiajie Landform”. Quartz sandstone similar to Zhangjiajie is found in any country and region in the world. The landforms of the peak forest can be collectively referred to as "Zhangjiajie landforms". Since then, "Zhangjiajie Landform" has been recognized by the international academic community.
