The classic self-driving route of Huizhou's humanistic landscape runs through six counties and cities in Anhui and Jiangxi, and autumn scenery ranks among the top in the country.
Autumn in Huizhou always comes at the right time. In my memory, around the middle of September every year, the weather is just lukewarm, and the length of day and night is equally divided. There is no heat in summer and cold in winter, and the sky is clear and ethereal. The deep blue in the mountains, colorful leaves, mist, autumn wind and Yuan Ye, these beautiful words are all patched together, which is the autumn scenery of Huizhou.
Huizhou, formerly known as Shezhou, includes Jixi in Xuanzhou, Shexian in Huangshan, yi county, Xiuning, Qimen and Wuyuan assigned to Jiangxi. It was called Huizhou as one government and six counties in ancient times, and Huizhou has been renamed Huangshan in recent years. Compared with the misty rain in the south of the Yangtze River in poetry, the ancient Huizhou, which was once blocked by mountains, seems to be the lifelong affection of many literati. Tang Xianzu, a dramatist in the Ming Dynasty, lamented that he had never dreamed of Huizhou in his life.
today, Huizhou ancient road is still firmly in the forefront of the yearning destinations in China. Along the way, the blue brick tile horse head wall, the humanistic beauty of famous mountains and historical sites, and the unique beauty in autumn, wandering among them, that pavilion, half an old bridge, or a few casual flowing people in the depths of the mountains, easily turned into a wonderful landscape painting in China. Well, it's time to go to Huizhou.
Today, I recommend a classic self-driving route of Huizhou humanistic landscape, which starts from Xuancheng in Anhui, passes through Wuyuan in Jiangxi, and ends at Jiuhua Mountain, and connects Huangshan Mountain, Qiyun Mountain, Hongcun Village, Xidi and other well-known mountain villages in series along the way. Whether you come to Huizhou for the first time or revisit it, it is a rare cultural journey.
Itinerary:
The route of Huizhou cultural landscape is 68 kilometers, and the driving time is about 1 days (it can be scaled according to the schedule). The route planning is Xuancheng, Jingxian, Jingde, Jixi, Shexian, Wuyuan, Yaoli, Anhui Yuting, Qiyun Mountain, Xidi, Hongcun, Huangshan and Jiuhua.
Accommodation food:
The development of Huizhou tourist routes is relatively mature, and various hotels, guesthouses, homestays and farmhouses can be seen everywhere. Avoid the peak season and make reservations one or two days in advance. Of course, if you want to stay at the top of Huangshan Mountain, try to prepare as early as possible. As one of the eight major cuisines, Anhui cuisine is good at stewing, with appropriate shades, smelly mandarin fish, hairy tofu, knife-board incense and Hu Shi's yipin pot, etc., and the taste of any restaurant is good.
Highlights along the way:
Jingxian County
Jingxian County belongs to Xuancheng. Historically, it is not only an agricultural and mulberry area where "men are diligent in farming and women are diligent in weaving", but also a humanistic place with numerous business officials and prosperous writing style. The Xuan paper in Four Treasures of the Study is the best made in Jingxian County. When you come from Xuancheng, you will pass Shengfengtang Xuanbi Factory in Huangcun when you drive along Provincial Highway 322, and you can stop and visit its production process. In addition, Jingxian Museum and Shuixi Twin Towers are also distributed around the provincial highway.
If Xuan paper and human history are the heritage of Jingxian County, then the natural landscape is the blessing of God to Jingxian County, among which Taohuatan is the most praised by outsiders. It is due to a poem "To Wang Lun" by Li Bai, a poet: "Peach Blossom Pond is deeper than thousands of feet, not as good as Wang Lun's." And fame is out there.
If you choose to live in Taohuatan Scenic Area, you must get up early to watch the autumn waters. The morning mist dances in Jiangshan, the distant mountains are looming, the morning glow dyes the sky pink, and occasionally birds cross the sky. Standing by the river, I'm afraid all I can think of at this time is "dancing to find out the shadow, what is it like on earth"
Jixi
Jixi is known as the "Southeast Zou Lu", which is the birthplace of Huizhou culture and Huizhou opera, and also one of the main birthplaces of Huizhou merchants and Huizhou cuisine. There are many Gu Xiang in Jixi County, and the long and narrow roads paved with bluestones record the rise and fall of this small town. If you want to fully understand the historical changes and cultural customs of Jixi, you can visit the Jixi Museum in the lower city, and seven exhibition halls, such as Huiling, Huixi and Huiwei, are enough to go deep into the ancient city.
Not far from the city, you can meet a garden-like building complex, which is the Purple Garden of the private Huizhou residential architecture museum. The garden is surrounded by mountains, a pool of clear water, pines and maples on the mountain, and houses at the foot of the mountain are scattered. It concentrates various elements of typical Huizhou village buildings such as pavilions, ancestral halls and memorial archways, and also has restaurants and inns for rest.
if you continue to drive forward, you can see Qiannian Renli Ancient Village and Longchuan Village in turn. The history of these two ancient villages has been more than a thousand years. The former retains a large number of buildings from Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Historically, it was the land and water wharf for the gathering of Huizhou merchants and the important town on the ancient road of Huizhou and Hangzhou. The latter is an ancient village where Hu's family lives together. Hu's ancestral hall, folk houses and other buildings are worth visiting.
If you have good footwork, you can walk the Huizhou-Hangzhou Ancient Road not far from Longchuan Village. As the third famous ancient road in China, it has become a paradise for junior hikers. In particular, the two dangerous peaks, Fanzhen Tip and Wolfhound Tip, have made many hikers enjoy it.
Shexian County
Shexian County is the birthplace of Huizhou culture, and the ancient city of Huizhou in the county seat is the seat of the former Huizhou government. The most special feature of Huizhou ancient city is that it is a "city-to-city". The ancient residential groups in the city are intertwined, like a magnificent historical museum. Even now, the city is still the place where Huizhou people live for generations.
among several city gates, Nanqiao Building is the most distinctive, while Huizhou Mansion and Xuguo Stone Square are the most essential parts of the ancient city. The ancient city is not closed. If you just visit the ancient city, you can save tickets by entering the city from other small streets. If you want to visit all the scenic spots in the ancient city completely, you can buy tickets from the west gate and enter the city. You can see Xuguo Stone Square not far away.
The scenic spots around the county are mainly Huizhou ancient villages, but they are scattered. You can choose a few representative ones to visit. For example, the most famous Tangyue archway group in southern Anhui, Baojia Garden, which has the reputation of "Mother of Oriental Gardens", Xucun, the first Jinshi Village in Huizhou, and Xiongcun, the hometown of the Prime Minister, etc.
Wuyuan
In spring, the rape blossoms in Wuyuan are the most attractive. In autumn, the autumn sun in Wuyuan and the maple leaves in Shicheng become the best spokespersons of autumn scenery.
It goes without saying that the autumn sun shines in Huangling Mountain. This village is located in a high mountain depression. The scenery is the most beautiful in the morning. The sun covers the whole village faintly. Every household begins to open the window and put the autumn harvest fruit in the dustpan in the sun. The red pepper glows in the sun, and the terraces in the distance become unreal like fairyland. The layers of rice fields are golden and surrounded by green trees.
at this time, the maple leaves in Shicheng are also the most red, walking among villages with blue tiles and white walls, looking at the mottled walls of old residential buildings, walking on the bluestone road with both feet, and watching the rice waves turn ripe and golden in the distant terraces. The most eye-catching thing between golden and black-and-white buildings is the maple leaf. The white fog can't hide the gorgeous red. Walking up the mountain on the stone steps, you can find the best location of the red leaves from the height outside the village.
In addition to the famous villages, Wuyuan is a huge gathering place of ancient villages, with small and large villages scattered all over the place, and each scenic spot is not too far apart, which is especially suitable for go on road trip. Those humble small villages may give people more surprises and touches.
Yaoli
The ancient town of Yaoli has a history of more than 2, years. Because it is the main raw material place of Jingdezhen, it has the reputation of "the source of porcelain". The ancient town belongs to the rest of Huangshan Mountain, with high mountains and dense forests, criss-crossing canyons, and the clear Yao River runs through the ancient city, giving people a sense of tranquility and simplicity.
Walking through the ancient villages, you can see the residential area in the center of the ancient town, and several large-scale ancient buildings of Ming and Qing dynasties are preserved. These old houses and ancient temples are built on both sides of the Yao River in a patchwork way, with red lanterns hanging high, which is quite poetic in Jiangnan water town. The most prominent places are Cheng's Ancestral Hall, Ming and Qing Commercial Street and Chen Yi's former residence.
Different from the commercial streets built later in some ancient towns, the Ming and Qing Commercial Street in Yaoli Ancient Town has always been the most prosperous street on the ancient Huizhou Avenue, and there is still a folk song "Going up to the street, going down to the street, the street is wide and long; Sugar, salt and vinegar, silks and satins, and 99 storefronts are enough to see the prosperity of the past. The streets are paved with three bluestones, and the eye-catching "Huizhou Avenue Turn" road sign still stands at the T-junction.
The ancient town of Yaoli is small, but it is like a pearl scattered in the mountains. It maintains the beauty of the original ecology with a fresh attitude. When you stop and go everywhere, you can always find a sense of fullness that makes people return to nature.
Qiyun Mountain
Qiyun Mountain is located in the territory of Huangshan City, facing the north and south of Huangshan Mountain. It is named after seeing the top of the mountain from a distance, like "a stone inserted into the sky and merged with the clouds". Although this mountain is only 585 meters above sea level, it is a bit exaggerated to describe it as "inserting into the sky", but because it belongs to the typical Danxia landform, hundreds of scenic spots form a wonderful cloth of strange rocks, showing the beauty of hongxia, plus countless strange peaks and rocks, flying streams and gurgling, which is fascinating.
There are two ancient roads leading to Qiyun Mountain, one is Zhengde Road leading to Zhang Sanfeng's tomb, and the other is Yongle Road leading to Taoist Temple and Cliff Stone Carvings. Along the way, in addition to the charming natural landscape, scattered inscriptions and stone carvings are the most talked about, with almost inscriptions on peaks and inscriptions on caves. Among them, there are three zones, namely, the cave, the fairy cave and Zixiaoyan, which are the most concentrated, especially the fairy cave has the most Taoist essence of Qiyun Mountain.
Yuehua Street at the top of the mountain is another scene. In just a few thousand meters, the ancient road houses, Huizhou folk houses, palaces and courtyards form a patchwork of buildings, which are like a street in the sky. In the evening, overlooking the Lingxu Terrace, you can see the whole picture. The incense burner peak is in front of it, and Yuping Peak is behind it. Yuehua Street is like a crescent moon, attached to the middle of Qiyun Mountain, which is really beautiful.
Xidi
Among many ancient villages in southern Anhui, Xidi and Hongcun are the most famous. From the point of view of ancient Huizhou architecture, Xidi is better, because it has more ancestral halls and relatively dense buildings, and enjoys the title of "People in the Peach Blossom Garden".
Xidi runs through the east and west with a main road, and there are many narrow lanes in the streets parallel to it on both sides. Most of the streets and lanes in the village are built along the stream. There are Little Square in front of the buildings such as Jing 'ai Hall, Zhuimutang and Hu Wenguang's memorial archway, which are mostly in the Qing Dynasty.
Generally, about 1 buildings are selected for visiting Xidi ancient Huizhou architecture, and there are free tour guides in the scenic spot, which can help you get a deeper understanding of Huizhou architecture. If you live here, don't forget to register your tickets at the ticket office, so you can enter many times.
Hongcun
In Ang Lee's film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, many scenes were shot in Hongcun, and the classic bamboo forest leaped and fell to the water, which was also shot in the Emerald Valley not far from Hongcun. After that, although Hongcun became famous and the number of tourists gradually increased, compared with some commercial ancient towns, it was still quiet. Especially when you enter the village in the early morning or at sunset, it is quiet like a paradise.
in the autumn village, the sky is crisp and the eyes are golden. Students in twos and threes will sit around the south lake and concentrate on freehand brushwork. Blue tiles and white walls, continuous mountains, all naturally reflect in the water, forming a natural picture. At this time, walking in the village, casual encounter, you can find a lot of fun.
in addition to the unique architecture and beautiful scenery, the unique folk customs are also very ceremonial. Large pieces of bacon were hung all over the house, dense and dense, which matched the old buildings and had no sense of disobedience. As for the taste of bacon, of course, you need to come here to taste it yourself to appreciate the taste.
Of course, if you have spare time, you can look around Hongcun. Qishu Lake, Mukeng Bamboo Sea, Nanping and other scenic spots are not too far away, so it's fun to have a leisurely stroll.
Huangshan Mountain
It goes without saying that Huangshan Mountain, known as "a fairyland on earth" and "the first wonder mountain in the world", is climbed by tourists from all over the world all year round. In autumn, while climbing the mountain, you can enjoy the autumn. The verdant pine needles and red maple leaves set off the wonderful peaks and stones, and you only feel that the world is mighty.
Because the south gate of Huangshan Mountain is closest to Tunxi District of Huangshan Mountain, most travelers will go up the mountain from here. There are also several good scenic spots near Tangkou Town, where the south gate is located, such as Jiulong Waterfall, Emerald Valley and Phoenix Source, all of which are mainly landscape scenery, which are close and on a line, and you can see them soon after driving along the national road in front of Nanda Gate.
Jiuhua Mountain
Although Jiuhua Mountain is not as famous as Huangshan Mountain, the beautiful landscape praised by Li Bai is still stunning. The unique geological conditions make it certified as a world geological park. In autumn, Buddhist temples are hidden in golden Woods, and I want to raise my camera when I see it.
Most of the temples and accommodations in Jiuhua Mountain are concentrated around Jiuhua Street. You can park your car in Jiuhua Street, walk around the monasteries, climb the mountain to Baisui Palace, see the natural sleeping Buddha, cross Dongya Temple, and return to Xiangge to the Phoenix Pine Scenic Area.
