Difference of accelerator pedal

The cable is connected to the end of the accelerator pedal of the traction accelerator and leads to the accelerator. The action of stepping on the throttle directly controls the throttle through the cable, just like the cable of the handbrake. The structure of the accelerator pedal is relatively simple, purely mechanical, without plugs and wires.

The electronic accelerator is adapted to the electronic accelerator pedal, which is a potentiometer with many wires connected to it. All the actions of stepping on the accelerator are converted into electrical signals and sent to ECU.

Difference of foot feeling

The accelerator pedal of the cable is a little heavy, because the other end drives the accelerator, and there is a certain frictional resistance between the accelerator cable and the pipeline. Moreover, because the cable itself has a certain tension, the accelerator pedal basically has a certain virtual position, that is, if you tap the accelerator pedal with your toes, the pedal will move slightly, but in fact the accelerator will not move. At this time, just tighten the cable, and then it will become heavy.

The electronic accelerator pedal has a complicated structure. Because there is a potentiometer inside, it is lighter to step on and the overall resistance is the same. Moreover, the electronic accelerator pedal is very accurate and there is no neutral position. Step on your toes lightly, but don't move, otherwise it will generate a signal and increase the engine speed.

Throttle body difference

The picture above is a picture of a cable throttle valve. It can be seen that there are throttle cables and return springs on the throttle body. This is the biggest feature of cable throttle valve. In addition, there are signal wires for idle motor, throttle position sensor and idle switch on the cable throttle.

Idle motor controls idle air intake, because the valve plate of the cable accelerator is completely closed after the accelerator pedal is released, so the cable accelerator has a bypass pipe for idle air intake, and the idle motor controls the air flow of the bypass pipe to control idle speed.

The picture above is an electronic throttle, its biggest feature is that there is no cable and return spring. The opening of the electronic throttle is controlled by a motor located in the throttle body. Coupled with various sensors, there are many wire harnesses on the electronic throttle.

The biggest feature of the throttle of the driving cable is direct and fast, and it is completely controlled by the driver. You can easily control the speed with the throttle. The engine will react immediately after stepping on the accelerator. Even if the power is insufficient, the engine will immediately shake twice.

The electronic throttle is controlled by the electronic control unit. The signal of stepping on the accelerator is first transmitted to the electronic control unit. It guesses your intention according to the speed and depth of stepping on the accelerator, and then controls the throttle opening in the way it thinks fit. The advantages are accurate control and more functions can be realized. For example, when the starting throttle is small, it will automatically replenish oil. However, the actual working state of the engine is slightly different from the driver's expectation. The accelerator pedal sometimes feels fleshy, and sometimes it is particularly sensitive.
