Architectural characteristics of Hongci Guangji Temple

Guangji Temple covers an area of 35 mu, facing south, with red walls and yellow tiles. Seen from a distance, it has a royal momentum. The whole building complex is solemn and orderly. Along the central axis are: Shanmen, Bell and Drum Tower, Tianwang Hall, Ursa Major Hall, Tongyuan Hall, Duobao Hall, and Tibetan Classics Pavilion. There are affiliated halls, cloisters, imperial monuments and Zhikeliao on the east and west sides.

The whole Guangji Temple is set in the lush towering trees, solemn and elegant, quiet and peaceful. As soon as you enter the mountain gate, you have brought people into a pure land of the city. There are five floors from the mountain gate to the back hall. There are three mountain gates, each of which is connected by a wall. Among them, there is a yellow glazed tile resting on the top of the mountain, a stone coupon archway, and the inscription "Jianhongci Guangji Temple". The east and west side doors are blue glazed tiles, and the top of the mountain is a stone arch with yellow edges. The forehead of the east gate is "Pilu Natural Sea", and the forehead of the west gate is "Huazang Xuanmen", with eight-character walls on both sides.

Inside the door is a courtyard, surrounded by two floors of bells and drums. In front is the king's temple, with three rooms wide, gray tiles resting on the top of the mountain, stone coupon doors and bronze Maitreya sitting inside. There are five halls in Daxiong, with yellow glazed tiles resting on the top of the mountain and the platform in front of the hall surrounded by stones. There are three Buddha statues and eighteen bronze arhats in the hall. Behind the Buddha statue, there is a wonderful picture of the finger painting of the painter Pu Wen during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It is 5 meters high and 10 meters wide, depicting the story of the Lingshan Mountain in Sakyamuni.

Tongyuan Hall is 5 rooms wide and dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva. Finally, there is a two-story building with a relic pavilion on the top, a green glazed tile roof on the bottom, a Duobao Hall and a yellow glazed tile eaves on the bottom, displaying the treasures presented by international Buddhist friends.

The relic pavilion once dedicated the Buddha tooth relic of Lingguang Temple 1955- 1964. Now it is a Buddhist scripture museum, with a collection of more than 65,438+10,000 Buddhist scriptures and a rubbings of Fangshan Yunju Temple stone carvings. The west courtyard has a lawyer's office, a Ye Jing office and a cloud water office.

There is an altar made of white marble in the altar hall in the northwest corner, which was built in the thirty-seventh year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1698). The East Courtyard has an instrument library and an Yanshou Hall. There is a stele of Iron Tree Song in Guangji Temple, which is made by Qianlong Palace. There is a bronze tripod made in the 58th year of Qing Qianlong (1793) in front of Daxiong Hall, which is more than 2 meters high. There are 1 seven-leaf pagodas in front of the main hall. The Buddha statues displayed in each museum are all statues of Ming and Qing dynasties from other places, with high artistic level and cultural value.
