How about Kumutula Thousand Buddha Cave?
Kumutula Thousand Buddha Cave is located about 30 kilometers southwest of Kuche County, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, and is a national key cultural relics protection unit. Kumutura is a transliteration of Uygur language, which means "beacon tower in the desert". The caves are distributed in the foothills or cliffs on the east bank of the Gan Wei River, and are divided into two areas, north and south, about 3 kilometers apart. There are many caves in the north area, with 80 numbered caves, but less than half of the caves and murals are well preserved. The caves in the south area are distributed on the east bank of the river and in several valleys. There are 32 numbered caves, and less than 10 caves are well preserved.
The Kumutura Thousand Buddha Cave, which is as famous as the Thousand Buddha Cave in Qizil, is located on the Chaletag Cliff on the Gan Wei River, 30 kilometers southwest of Kuqa County. According to Vae's "Western Waterway" in the Qing Dynasty, "there are five stone chambers on the mountain, which are more than ten feet high and two feet deep, with dozens of carved buddhas on the walls and mottled flowers."
Kumutura is the cave group with the largest number of existing caves in Kuqa County, with the number of caves 1 12. 196 1 was announced by the State Council as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Kumutura Grottoes began in the 4th century. The "demonization" in Cave 24 is bold and bold, which shows the Qiuci people's simple, open-minded and straightforward spirit. Cave 46 reflects the Bunsen map, outlines with thick lines, and paints the interior with ochre, which has a strong three-dimensional effect. The mourning bodhisattva in Cave 32, Edited by Nie Jia, has round and solid lines, smooth and soft, and is full of rhythm, which is the masterpiece of "bending iron and winding silk" lines.
Among the Kumutura Grottoes, the number of murals in the Tang Dynasty is the largest. Both content and painting style are close to the art of the Central Plains. There have been large-scale story-changing paintings such as Pure Land in the West, Oriental Pharmacist, Fahua and Maitreya Buddha. At the same time, many murals in this period are also the product of the combination of Central Plains painting style and Qiuci painting style. In the same painting, some lines are tight and round, some are of the same thickness, and then they are smudged carefully, which makes them look beautiful and elegant. The characters in Qiuci murals are vivid and beautiful, which, to some extent, shows the civilized behavior of ancient Qiuci people.
