Can lightning turn on the air conditioner?
2. When designing the air conditioner, a "lightning protection" board is designed on the main control board. The signal communication lines between the indoor and outdoor units of the air conditioner are mostly shielded signal lines, and the air conditioner has good grounding. These are all to ensure that the air conditioner can work normally in thunderstorm weather, when the power supply voltage fluctuates or when there is electromagnetic interference beside the air conditioner. However, in thunderstorm weather, due to the existence of lightning, it is easy to cause the power supply voltage of air conditioning to fluctuate greatly in an instant. If lightning causes excessive fluctuation of air conditioning power supply, it may lead to abnormal situations such as burning of air conditioning electronic control components.
If possible, it is best to stop using the air conditioner and cut off the power supply of the air conditioner in thunderstorm weather. If you insist on continuing to use it, there is a risk, but the risk is not great.
4. It is recommended to turn off the air conditioner when it is not used for a long time, in order to prevent the air conditioner from being damaged by thunderstorm weather.
