How to check if my name is the same? How many people in the country have the same name as me?

When many parents choose a name for their baby, they would like to know the number of people with the same name in China, hoping that the baby’s name will not overlap with too many people. Or some friends simply want to know how many people in China have the same name as themselves, so how do they perform a duplicate name query?

The Public Security Bureau officially provides an online query system for the number of people with the same name and the same name in the country (see the end of the article for the query entry).

Query steps:

Enter the guidance page of the Domestic Duplicate Name Query System of the Ministry of Public Security and click "Query the number of people with the same name".

In the pop-up window, click "Nationwide" and click the "Confirm" button.

At this time, the user will be prompted to log in. If you do not log in, you will not be able to query. Assuming you have registered before, then fill in your ID number or mobile phone number, password, and verification code to log in. If you have not registered before, click "User Registration".

After clicking "User Registration", the "Personal Registration" interface will appear. Fill in the personal information as mentioned above, such as ID number, user name, mobile phone number, login password, etc. (Leave blank if not marked with *).

After completing the filling, click "Register".

Next, there is another step of real-name authentication. Successful registration is only after real-name authentication.

After registering an account, log in with the account you just registered. When logged in, click "Check the number of people with duplicate names" mentioned at the beginning of the article to enter the national duplicate name query system.

Enter the name you want to check, select the gender, fill in the verification code, and press OK, and the results will be clear at a glance.

Below is the number of people with the same name across the country that I got by randomly querying a name.

China has a large population, but there are only a few thousand commonly used Chinese characters, so the same names are inevitable. A name is just a code for addressing people. If you deliberately choose some uncommon words in order to avoid duplication of names, it will be a small gain, and even cause trouble. Try to think about the embarrassment of someone trying to call you by your name but not knowing how to say it, or trying to write your name but not knowing how to write it. Therefore, when choosing a name, you don’t need to pursue absolute non-duplication of names. As long as the relative names are different, for example, it is not very common and there is no similar name among the people you know.
