Fubo Temple in Hengxian County, Guangxi
Fubo Temple in Hengxian County is a distinctive architectural group, which consists of a temple gate, a memorial archway, a front hall, a main hall, a side hall, a back hall, a cloister and an altar. They form a closed courtyard centered on the altar. There are bell and drum towers on both sides of the temple gate. This symmetrical bell tower and drum hug were obviously built under the influence of Buddhism, because ancestral halls in China generally don't use big clocks and drums, so naturally they won't be built next to temples. After Buddhism was introduced into China, buildings such as bell tower and drum tower appeared in various places. However, in a very orthodox Buddhist temple building, it is rare to build a symmetrical bell tower and drum tower at the same time outside the door. The bell, drum tower and corridor of Fubo Temple in Hengxian County are all buildings of the Ming Dynasty. As can be seen from the remains, the architectural design and structure are almost the same as in the past. They are rectangular on the plane, and the structural form is a combination of cross buckets and hanging beams. The bell tower raises four pillars and raises the roof with four pillars. The railing on the second floor is a blue brick wall with a blue tile cornice on the roof, which has both a light momentum and a rain-proof function. The right spine is close to two flying carp, and the front shape is quite beautiful and generous. The front hall is supported by double arch eaves columns, and there are exquisite birds and stone lions at the junction of the arch columns. In the roof truss structure, there are beams, beams, arches, pins, astronomical signs and so on. , have reached the harmonious unity of function and art, as a whole, it is also an ancient building with exquisite art. There are many story murals depicting pastoral scenery and myths and legends on the walls around the temple, which are exquisite and gorgeous. There are also various civilian military commanders. There are dragons playing with pearls on the spine, as well as sculptures of lions, birds, fish, flowers and grass, which are extremely gorgeous and lifelike. The roof of the main hall is folded gently, and the upturned eaves are stretched and elegant. There are many stone pillars in the temple, and the stone carving tools on the pillars are exquisite, such as lotus shape and tower shape. The beam frame is made of huge materials, and the bottom surface is finely carved. Exquisitely made, gorgeous and beautiful, the whole structure can be said to be a typical example of Ming and Qing architecture. In addition, Fubo Temple also has an ingenious masterpiece: the ancient trees around the temple are towering, lush and leafy, but despite the seasonal changes, the west wind is blowing hard and yellow leaves are everywhere, but never a leaf falls on the roof of the main hall. On the green tile surface, it is always so neat and clean, which is amazing. It turned out that this was specially designed by the architect according to the mountainous terrain here. Fubo Temple is located on the paraboloid of the peak and valley, with its back facing the north, and the wind mainly blows from the southwest. Here in Fubo Temple, there is an updraft. The wind blows from the roof truss to the tile surface, and a cool wind gently blows on the tile surface. Therefore, although the west wind is rustling, there will not be a leaf blowing on the roof of the main hall. People marvel at it and think it is the divine power of the general, which is also a major feature of Fubo Temple. Fubo Temple was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit in 1985; 1994 upgraded to a district-level cultural relics protection unit.
