How to make handmade gold medals
Tools/materials: cardboard, scissors, pen, double-sided tape.
Steps:
1. Take yellow cardboard and blue cardboard and cut out two circles, one big and one small. Stick the blue circle on the yellow circle.
Then cut out a smaller circle with yellow cardboard and draw the logo of the Winter Olympics on the door. Stick it on the blue circle.
3. Finally, cut a thin strip with red cardboard, fold it into a medal belt, and fix it on the gold medal with double-sided tape.
In this way, the handmade gold medal was made.
Knowledge expansion:
A gold medal is usually awarded to the first (champion) winner of a competition (such as the Olympic Games and other sports competitions). The second (runner-up) and third (runner-up) usually win silver and bronze medals respectively. This practice is said to have been initiated by a Jewish king.
The medal surface is not flat, but it is wavy for the first time, which reminds people of the common landscapes-waves, snow and mountains-in the host area of the 20 10 Winter Olympics and other parts of Canada. For the first time in the history of the Olympic Games, the medals of the Winter Olympics are round, which is the same as the medals of the Winter Paralympics.
Colleen Hunt, an indigenous Canadian designer, created two abstract paintings with national characteristics, which became the source of the positive patterns of medals in the Winter Olympics and the Winter Paralympics respectively. A small part of each medal is captured, and no medal has the same positive pattern, which makes each medal unique and creates a precedent in the history of the Olympic Games.
