My personal learning and growth process (how I started learning Buddhism)

When I first started working, I came into contact with computers and became completely obsessed with computer technology. All the books I read were about information technology. I indulged myself in learning various computer technologies and read at least 2 books. IT technology books on the bookshelf. At that time, it was my dream to be an IT expert. Qiu Bojun from Kingsoft Company was my hero. In the following years, I gradually moved from an IT technician to a senior position in an IT company, and finally began to gradually embark on the process of starting my own business. I became completely obsessed with the knowledge of business administration. The study of marketing and MBA management became my passion. My biggest hobby is reading at least 4 or 5 bookshelves of business books. At that time, Yu Shiwei's lectures had a great impact on me, and I watched basically all of his course videos over and over again. At the same time, I was also fascinated by economics. All kinds of financial knowledge became my hobby. I had at least half a bookshelf of books on economic theory, and I spent at least 4 hours every week reading some mainstream financial newspapers and periodicals ( Such as Economic Observer, China Business News, 21st Century Business Herald, etc.) I read these publications carefully and learned a lot of knowledge from them. At that time, I especially loved reading speeches or books by some economists. The economists I admired very much included Zhang Wuchang, Lang Xianping, and Fan Gang. . . At that time, I was so obsessed with economics that I would often stay up all night reading these contents (not like reading stock reviews all day long, which is not called economics). Later, the more I read Western business administration and economics books, the more I found problems. Many theories were specious or even contradictory, but they all had their own truths. By chance, I read "The Analects of Confucius" again, and I suddenly discovered that Confucian culture is the basic knowledge of the world, while those Western philosophies, including modern business administration, are all blind people trying to figure out the elephant. Although many of them are correct, they are not systematic and imperfect. , the more you learn, the more you will discover this problem. I knew clearly at that time that China's thousands of years of prosperity in history was by no means accidental. It was because China's history had always been based on Confucian culture as the foundation for governing the country, which made it so strong. No wonder a prime minister in the Song Dynasty said that "half of the Analects rules the world." This is by no means nonsense. People who have not read the Four Books and Five Classics will not be so shocked. It can be said that China's Confucian culture covers all aspects of governance, self-cultivation, dealing with people, economy, military, culture, literature and art, etiquette, mathematics, and philosophy. And I also understand why scholars in ancient times were able to be knowledgeable and sensible, and heroes emerged in large numbers. This is completely different from modern technical education. Modern education is basically a failure, especially university education, which is basically a technical school. Through the study of Confucian culture, especially the reading of the "Book of Changes", I began to understand more about Taoist culture, and then I realized that those things that I thought were superstitions were actually university knowledge. I have learned a lot about horoscopes, Feng Shui, divination, etc. Great interest, and often enjoy the praise of others through these mystics. At the same time, I became very interested in traditional Chinese medicine. The basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine is yin-yang and five elements. In fact, traditional Chinese medicine is also a derivative of the Zhouyi culture, which contains university knowledge. Unfortunately, the traditional Chinese medicine that many people know now is emasculated traditional Chinese medicine, that is, for Parts of the core culture are either unknown or misunderstood as if they were superstitious. Because I studied Confucianism, I read a lot of Nan Huaijin's books, from which I began to really come into contact with Buddhism. It was like a new life started for me. In the past, I was biased against Buddhism due to the influence of ignorant education and thought it was superstition. But after I read a lot of Buddhist scriptures and watched many sermons by great sages, I was shocked beyond compare. It turns out that Buddhism is the most fundamental knowledge and wisdom in the world. Buddhism contains too many things, is too profound, and the system is too complex and perfect. What Buddhism reveals is not just a certain aspect of knowledge, but the fundamental knowledge of the world and life. I first started studying Buddhism by reading the Diamond Sutra, and later I read many sutras. From the beginning, I only studied Buddhism as a subject of study, but later I truly understood that the practice of Buddhism is "views, realizations, and aspirations." Comprehensive cultivation is indispensable. What Buddhism has brought me is not only the wisdom of survival in the world, but also the true improvement and liberation of life. It can be said that I cannot describe the beauty and supreme value of Buddhism in any language. I knew very clearly that I had finally begun to learn the most fundamental and advanced knowledge in the world. Unfortunately, too many people have various misunderstandings about Buddhism due to wrong concepts. They are unwilling to understand Buddhism, mistakenly thinking that it is superstition, and mistakenly thinking that practicing Buddhism is a negative life. Sometimes when I tell people around me some Buddhist wisdom, I also find that many people will reject me, for fear that I will let them learn Buddhism. In fact, they really think too highly of themselves. If a person does not have a superior faculty and a high cultural foundation, he will not be able to read any Buddhist scriptures. I can have a certain understanding of Buddhism. This is different from so many other Buddhist scriptures that I have studied before. Things are completely inseparable. It can be said that my previous studies have become the basis for my Buddhist practice. My own abilities are actually very poor, but I still have some cultural foundation, and it is really difficult for more people to learn Buddhism to be like me. I hope to tell those who refuse to believe in Buddhism that I have also experienced your doubts and confusion about Buddhism. But I am different from you. I love to learn, and I studied it seriously. Only then did I truly understand and recognize Buddhism. If you have not read any Buddhist scriptures at all, or even have any basic knowledge of Buddhism, and you judge Buddhism arbitrarily, I think you are very ignorant and very irresponsible to yourself.

Many people think highly of themselves after learning some knowledge about science and technology, business, and economics. They look down on those of us who study Buddhism and think that we are backward. Then I can tell you that I have gone through the process you are going through now, and the grades I obtained when I studied hard were probably much higher than yours. Don't think that I am lagging behind. I traveled a lot and learned a lot of knowledge in different subjects before embarking on the path of learning Buddhism. Do you think that I am becoming more stupid as I learn so many things? Don’t think that learning Buddhism is as simple as reciting a few words of Buddha’s name and kowtowing a few times. If you don’t have an extraordinary cultural foundation, super thinking ability, super understanding, and super hard spirit, you can’t learn Buddhism. It’s not that I look down on those who don’t agree with Buddhism, but I’ve come into contact with a lot of people in the decades since I was a child. Those who truly have the wisdom and understanding to learn Buddhism can be said to be very rare. Finally, I would like to condemn our obscurantist education, which has made most of our people into people who can only shout slogans reflexively and do not understand the true study of knowledge. Including those who think they adhere to XX doctrine, how many of you have read "Das Kapital"? You're not as good as me at this point, at least I've read it. You have instilled and educated the people with slogans from childhood, hypnotized several generations, and made these people one-sidedly believe in your theories and deny China's traditional culture. You have destroyed the truly precious things that China has had for thousands of years. You have destroyed the gains of countless people. The path of true wisdom, you are sinners, and endless hell awaits you.
