What are the common misunderstandings of current Buddhist learners?

Take a comprehensive view of the words and deeds of a layman below the law

-from the third issue of Lin Wa Banghe.

-Transferred from the Buddhist navigation website.

I have studied Buddhism for a long time and benefited a lot. I often pray that all beings will be interested in Buddhism as soon as possible and get rid of the suffering of reincarnation as soon as possible. Sometimes, I will sigh and wonder why few people believe in the supreme magic that is more precious than Mani's orb, and even the so-called "Buddhists" are often confused and shrink back. In addition to such factors as "the end of Buddhism", "the will of all beings is strong" and "the cause is incredible", the author deeply feels that as a disciple of the Buddha, all kinds of words and deeds inferior to Buddhism have greatly confused Buddhism, misled all beings' understanding of Buddhism and blocked the way for all beings to convert to the Three Treasures. Therefore, this article is specially written to expose the words and deeds of lay people who are inferior to Buddhism, so that fellow initiates can lead an honest and clean life, rise up for Buddhism and do their part for practice. All eighteen species are divided into two parts, which are described as follows.

Ordinary channel

1, burn incense and ask questions.

Pray for eliminating its disaster and realizing its wish.

Some lay people like to worship in the temple, invite incense, pray for the blessing of Buddha and Bodhisattva, or remove some specific disasters, or pray for solving some problems at home, or pray for promotion and wealth, and so on. Even some laymen spend a lot of money to be the first hero on what they think is a "special day" for the so-called "good luck", or burn the first incense, hit the first bell, knock the first head and so on. If you get what you want, you will be mentally and physically Shu Tai and think that this year will be a complete success, otherwise you will feel unlucky and depressed.

Most of the mistakes made by such laymen are unknown in cause and effect. I hope that Buddha and Bodhisattva can directly eliminate disasters and give fame and fortune. Analyzing their mentality means asking for conditions and demands from buddhas and bodhisattvas. For example, when my illness is cured and my children are full, I will rebuild the temple and build a golden body for you. Or do something for the temple, you must set up a stone tablet of "merit and fame"; Or give some support to buddhas and bodhisattvas first, and then hope to satisfy their wishes. All kinds of mentality and behavior are no different from doing business in the world, just like bargaining.

"The most extensive theory of Bodhi Daoism" said: "All Buddhas do not wash away the sin of water, do not remove the suffering of all beings with their hands, or remove the rest with their own testimony to show their legal meaning." This means that Buddhas and Bodhisattvas cannot directly wash away the sinful karma of all beings with water, nor can they directly remove the pain of all beings with their hands, nor can they directly transfer their own happiness to all beings. Instead, we can speak for all beings, let them practice according to Buddhism, and free them. Therefore, Buddhism is only the gateway to practice, and Buddha and Bodhisattva are the mentors who show these portals to all beings. Generally speaking, the liberation of becoming a Buddha depends on one's own practice to prove it; In short, if you want to get the blessing of others, you need to plant a good relationship yourself. We don't follow the principle of cause and effect, and we don't plant good causes. We just hope that Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will come directly to the door to bless and eliminate the evil consequences. This idea runs counter to Buddhism.

Burning incense and worshipping Buddha is a good thing. In Confucian classics, incense lamps are also praised for providing support and respect for Buddhas. But the crux of the problem lies in: burning incense and worshiping Buddha, or praying for the liberation of all beings and holding big wishes; In other words, although you encounter specific things or difficulties, you should pray based on actual practice, which is in line with the fundamental law of cause and effect; As for this kind of activity, it is not a matter of Buddhism, let alone a real yogi.

2. Unknown Buddhism is Buddha.

Talk to you and give you advice.

Some laymen often recite several Buddhist names when they enter Buddhism, or know some superficial Buddhist names, but they have no good knowledge of practicing. They don't really understand Buddhism, but try to attract people to believe in Buddhism with excessive enthusiasm. If others show interest, they will introduce their experiences more endlessly. If there is anything to catch up with the meeting, worship the "great virtue" and encourage them to go together. If others feel annoyed, or show an unconvincing attitude, such a layman will be very uncomfortable, or bitter, arguing endlessly, or "full of pity" to persuade others to repent quickly, otherwise it will be "sinful" and "karma" and so on. Their words and deeds only show their persistence in Buddhism, and they are still "I insist": I believe in Buddhism, my Buddha is good, my practice is good, my master is good, and so on. They protect the law and publicize it. In fact, they insist on "I", protect "I" and publicize "I". Otherwise, how can others be bothered if they don't listen?

A true Buddhist disciple must first practice Buddhism. As the saying goes, "there is nothing wrong with not adjusting your clothes and showing them to others." When you still have a little knowledge, or even know nothing, it is imperative to practice diligently according to the knowledge of great goodness, rather than rushing to "publicize" Buddhism and sell it. This so-called "Buddhism" advocated by lay people can only make people go astray, misunderstand Buddhism, misunderstand practitioners, and even feel tired and exclusive of Buddhism. Such words and deeds are not conducive to yourself or others, and must be cut off.

It's not that an ignorant layman can't communicate with others and persuade people to believe in Buddhism. Whether it is a layman who benefits from Buddhism or a person who has not yet understood Buddhism, he must accept his fate and do things. When you meet sentient beings who are interested in Buddhism and really want to practice liberation, lay people can communicate with them, frankly tell their own practice experience and understanding of Buddhism, or introduce their knowledge of being close to the Great Good. This not only does not hinder self-cultivation, but also skillfully opens the door for other beings to enter Buddhism.

3. Pick up monks and gather people to plan activities.

Intentional practice and unintentional practice

Some lay people have strong communication skills, know many "living buddhas" and "eminent monks", and often receive these monks, greet them and arrange accommodation, just like the director of the office on earth. During the detention of these monks, such laymen will inform all the believers they know, or hold a dharma meeting, become attached to initiation, or organize their release, with a large entourage. They spend most of their time in business operations and have no time to practice.

When you convert, you become a Buddha. You should take practice as the basis, and everything else should follow fate. This is like Buddhism. You should be respectful to monk Bao, but if you take receiving and arranging activities as a routine, you will ignore or occupy the time of practice. How to change if you don't practice? Not to mention preaching Buddhism and benefiting students, after all, it is not the true face of Buddha.

4. Dominate the monk treasure as a relative.

Choose people according to your feelings.

Some lay people have a good relationship with a living Buddha and a monk, and often get the support of their families. They eat, drink and treat them like guests. When something happened at home, I quickly recited the scriptures to the living Buddha and monk, and I simply regarded the living Buddha and monk as the patron saint of my family. Apart from family members and close friends, such lay people do not receive any believers who want to get close to living buddhas and monks. If other believers know this news and want to come and visit, such laymen often refuse on the grounds that "the living Buddha is busy" and "he needs a rest". If believers come to visit directly, such laymen can't refuse flatly, but they don't want to accept tickets for funeral, and they are indifferent to visitors and even make things difficult.

Even monks who break the precepts can benefit the people they see by wearing vestments. After several disasters, they can enjoy liberation according to this karma. If it is a monk with a certificate, it is even more incredible for the interests of all beings. A layman who really stops learning good knowledge, or who has the opportunity to get close to the lofty monk and great virtue, should send a heart to let all living beings get close to learning good knowledge and open the door to practice for all living beings. But such laymen are narrow-minded and care about each other. On the surface, it seems to be respect, but the objective result is that good knowledge is regarded as your own private property, which not only makes others lose the opportunity to support and serve good knowledge, but also makes them unable to get blessings and legitimate interests because of selfishness. To put it more seriously, this kind of behavior will make you fall into evil interest faster.

5. Start grouping from high school and form factions.

Be kind to others and despise others.

Some lay people no longer follow a good knowledge or join a Buddhist society, gradually forming a fixed circle and atmosphere, thus excluding other believers. When other believers come to ask questions or ask for classic magic weapons, such laymen will "brush up". If you are a fellow disciple, you will be warmly received; If not, it is arrogance and impatience, which makes visitors feel that they have really brought them a lot of trouble and should be ashamed.

No matter what method you practice and what kind of master you follow, you are a Buddha and relieved. Patriarchal clan system and religion are convenient and diverse, and there is no difference in purport; A famous teacher and a hermit have different hands and eyes, and their hearts are one. As laymen, we should treat other fellow initiates with joy and equality, so as long as our master is good at knowledge and the dharma we have learned is the dharma, we should try our best to provide them with convenience in practice. Even beginners who don't follow the instructions and laymen who don't start learning shouldn't have a dull heart. Instead, we should be merciful, help them accept their fate, and lead them to follow the knowledge of great goodness and practice Buddhism. Not only did they not help fellow initiates, but they also looked down on the world, lacked the minimum sympathy, and even failed to meet the standards of seeking common ground while reserving differences and being kind to others advocated in the world. They are really ashamed to be Buddhists and are called laity.

6. Dress yourself up in Buddhism.

Hypocrisy, affectation, glib tongue

There are also some laymen who are so-called "Buddhist wanderers" and have learned some Buddhist truths. They are not used for introspection, but for dressing up and whitewashing themselves. For example, some people clearly have resentment and contempt for others, but they still have to say "You are Buddha and Bodhisattva, you are Buddha and Bodhisattva, and only I am an ordinary person …" all day to show how open-minded they are. For another example, some people obviously have no firm confidence in Buddhism, but they have to show some extreme behaviors, such as not going to the hospital when they are sick, in order to show their "firm confidence" in cause and effect. In particular, some lay people get together and brag and flatter each other, but the real purpose of flattering others is to show themselves to show how humble, tolerant and proficient they are in Buddhism. These people seem to be saying "Buddha", but in essence they are defending an "I", which is the bad habit of the world.

To practice Buddhism, we should work hard in body, language and mind, and don't cling to our "face project". Behind the vanity face is the root of the trouble cycle-"I am persistent". All sentient beings have never started, and are covered by ignorance. The body and mind that cling to the five meanings of falsehood and harmony are "true self", thus creating all kinds of karma and indulging in life and death indefinitely. For example, risking one's life and forgetting one's death said, "All troubles are born by oneself, and there is reincarnation, so there is no room for liberation." It can be said that the process of knowing and grasping oneself runs through the whole process of learning Buddhism. A true yogi should always check himself, whether what he does is really divorced from "self-nature, sentient beings and longevity", or whether the inner self is more prosperous and more troublesome.

7. Classics with a little knowledge teach me to be slow and lofty.

Show off, be competitive

Some lay people read more scriptures than others and know more Buddhist names, so they think they have mastered Buddhism, and they think highly of themselves and are complacent. Such laymen often have the feeling of technical itching, and always have the desire to communicate with other believers and "popularize the law" to non-believers. If it is recognized and admired by the audience, such a layman will have a sense of satisfaction; On the contrary, when they can't convince the audience, or what they say is not as good as the law, such laymen not only can't listen to opinions with an open mind, but also argue endlessly to save face, and even become angry from embarrassment, making matters worse.

Learning Buddhism internally is based on cultivating the mind. It is precisely because we have heavy karma habits, troubles and greed that we need to correct our self-mind and eliminate pollution by law. The practice of this kind of laymen is nothing more than taking Buddhism as food to satisfy their own desires, showing off everywhere, striving for capital, and extremely inflating their greed. When this greed is not satisfied, nature is born and the industry is endless. The biggest difference between Buddhism and worldly knowledge is that it directly guides the practice of all beings and is a rare treasure that can only be used by one's own practice. If we only study it as knowledge, show it off as knowledge, and don't practice it according to the methods it teaches, the result is that this realm of laymen, instead of benefiting, turns nectar into poison, which is deeply sad.

8. The Buddhism you studied has become a cause of boredom.

Do negative things and criticize others.

After contacting Buddhism, some lay people think they have some understanding and are immersed in the realm of "winning beauty and purity", and they don't like people and things in the world, and a world-weariness mixed with pride gradually breeds. In this mood, the learned Buddhism became the ruler, and all the people and things became the objects of this ruler. Especially when the work is not satisfactory, the rebellious psychology of "life is boring" and "everything is meaningless" will be born more strongly, and everything will be "vulgar". For the people they contact, they often feel that their level or quality is low, their language is unreasonable, they don't understand Buddhism, and they are vulgar.

It is good to learn Buddhism and become eccentric gradually, but the performance of this layman is not eccentric. If you really have a heartfelt alienation, you either decide to become a monk and practice, decide to do Tao wholeheartedly and do nothing; Either you are in the world, but you see that everything in the world is bitter and greedy. I often feel carefree and capricious. Although I still do ordinary things according to karma, I also attach the most importance to practice, and doing things for everyone has become an additional fate of practice. But such a layman has no determination to become a monk, deep feelings, unfinished customs and hope for the world. Things in the world are long and scattered, and we have to work hard. A little knowledge of Buddhism has become an excuse to avoid responsibility and lazy habits, and a "mirror" to find fault with others and society. Look at everything with this "mirror", see that everything is not satisfactory, see that everyone is vulgar, but just forget to reflect on yourself and examine your heart.

Master Yin Guang often said that it is good knowledge to regard all sentient beings as Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. If we can observe and think in this way, even if we encounter adversity and unreasonable people or things, we will look at them from the perspective of cause and effect, and turn these adversities into the upward trend of practice, so that we can not only do things well in the world calmly, but also accumulate wealth and wealth, which will make us achieve faster.

9. The inheritance is incomplete and insightful.

Yelang is arrogant and pretends to be the founder.

Some lay people have found Buddhism, gained a little benefit through practice, and have a clearer understanding of Buddhism than ordinary believers. However, the inheritance they seek is not complete, the method they practice is not the most direct, and the epiphany is far from complete. They should make persistent efforts to specialize, so that they can get rid of the hope of becoming a Buddha. Unfortunately, they covet the title of "founder" and can't wait to go out and "preach the Dharma" before they have completed it satisfactorily. Or set up a lecture hall, or write a book, or even violate the Buddhist system, specifically to show off their magical powers to win over believers, and even slander monk Bao, named "two treasures lay." All his words and deeds are promoting "Laozi is the best in the world". When he got carried away, he didn't even pay attention to his ancestors. It seems that he is the only one in the three worlds, and he is the only one in this vein. Under the domination of this arrogant thought, he set up another family and arrogantly called himself "the ancestor". Judging from the medical clinical diagnosis, this kind of person is "paranoid schizophrenia"! Their disciples are also infected with this disease and arrogant. They think that only their own master is a wise person in this world, and he is smarter than Buddha.

At the beginning of the spread of Buddhism, there were no sects, and sects were already in decline. In addition, the founders of various factions did not have the heart of "setting up another mountain" when they were preaching the Dharma in the world, nor did they claim to be "the ancestor of a certain faction". The names of founders and sects were added by descendants and believers. When they were in Honghua, in order to arouse the confidence of their disciples, they would certainly admire their unique inheritance, but they would never belittle and vilify others, let alone criticize their ancestors. Self-praise and destruction of him will inevitably lead to his own ignorance, and it is difficult for his disciples to practice, which will lead to the short spread of Buddhism. History has proved that even if he can be famous for a while, his laws will disappear after two or three generations at most, and his life will be full of violations.

Those who inherit the practice according to law are arrogant and still get this evil result. Where will those who have no inheritance, practice blindly, fabricate their own merits and deceive all beings to draw a circle? There is no limit to the sea of suffering, and turning back is the shore!

Yi Zhi tablets

1, running around asking the master for dharma.

It is impossible to cultivate multiple categories.

As long as some lay people hear that a monk or a living Buddha is coming, they will certainly visit, seek happiness, enlightenment and Buddhism. When I meet other fellow initiates, I will enthusiastically tell them how many great virtues I have seen and how many inheritances I have received. However, it is unknown whether these heritages have really gained legal benefits through their own practice.

The Buddha established 84,000 dharma circles, which were distinguished according to the different foundations and karma of all beings. The emergence of great knowledge in the world is also based on the respective karma of all beings. Some sentient beings have no false confidence when they see some great knowledge, but they don't necessarily feel when they see other great knowledge. This is not necessarily because of the different cultivation of great good knowledge, but because of the different karma between all beings and good knowledge. In short, a layman who worships teachers everywhere must first have his own disciples and join the practice according to his predestined knowledge of great goodness, so as to benefit from the Dharma. Otherwise, if you worship so many masters, you will get a good marriage at most, and it will be difficult for you to get tangible benefits both physically and mentally. In other words, for some initiation and inheritance, if you can't follow them after teaching, it is a big mistake. Therefore, it is necessary not only to observe whether the preacher is qualified and good knowledge, but also to ask clearly before the ceremony, how to practice according to law after receiving the dharma, what matters need attention in practice and so on. The practice of Buddhism is not a child's play, so we should be careful and meticulous, especially those laymen who like to catch up with Buddhist meetings and meet monks.

In fact, the simplest way is to do everything according to his words and deeds after we are fortunate enough to stop our knowledge of great goodness, so that liberation and even becoming a Buddha are not out of reach. All great achievements are based on reasonable and just good knowledge. I have never heard of any great virtue achieved by visiting more and catching up with the practice. In Hua Yan Jing, there are fifty-three good boys, and each new good knowledge is carried out under the guidance of the previous good knowledge, instead of running around like a rush.

2, did not take into account the hasty inspection.

Abandon the teacher and break the oath.

After seeing the good knowledge, some lay people did not observe it carefully, nor did they really feel confident. Or because of herd mentality or temporary emotions, they rushed to follow suit and vowed to "never give up the good knowledge", even crying bitterly, vowing to "be a disciple of the good knowledge from generation to generation and support it physically, verbally and mentally." However, once such laymen are not around good knowledge, or hear some negative remarks about good knowledge, their "confidence" will be shaken immediately and they deeply regret their unclear vision. Without further rational observation, it is easy to abandon good knowledge and the original oath.

Buddhist disciples need to observe carefully when looking for their own fundamental guru. Only when they have real confidence in judging the merits of good knowledge and regard good knowledge as the same as Buddha can they give nothing and never give up. This true self-confidence born of careful observation can be as powerful as the earth, and it is this self-confidence that makes liberation and Buddhism possible. If you don't have rational observation and good knowledge of the law, you don't understand its inherent advantages, and you rely too hastily on secular emotions or preferences. If you rely on it, the foundation will be shallow and fragile, and it will crumble when it encounters a little wind and rain. If you abandon and denigrate your own fundamental guru, you will make endless mistakes and you will never survive.

3, regardless of identity and timing

Strongly advise to stop going against fate.

Some laymen, after stopping their good knowledge, feel nothing wrong, and they can feel happy and grateful in their hearts. After being complacent, I spread the word everywhere irresistibly, encouraging others to persuade them, praising how great my master is and how good he is, and even forcing other people without faith to persuade them, no matter what the origin, until they hate it. The result not only failed to stop people, but also made them have all kinds of prejudices and doubts about good knowledge and its Dojo.

All beings have different origins, different roots and different good knowledge. It seems good to try to persuade people to stop, hoping to free all sentient beings by stopping the knowledge of great goodness, but their words and deeds just go against their original intention and objectively cause the contradiction between good knowledge and Dojo. Judging from the results, it is no different from defaming teachers and laws. Therefore, laymen who no longer rely on good knowledge should conform to karma and not persuade others at will. For those beings who have no faith, no matter what occasions and opportunities, they should not "preach" and "admire" the merits of good knowledge.

4. Seek personal gain in the name of the teacher.

Brother and sister made a deal.

Some laymen have no confidence in the merits of profound teachings and good knowledge, but take a fancy to his reputation and the "crowd" he attracts. On the one hand, such laymen seek personal gain everywhere under the banner of good learning; On the other hand, using the same door as an excuse, let other disciples help to do business and sell their own goods.

Buddhism is the supreme magic weapon to teach people life and death. Good knowledge is a collection of buddhas and bodhisattvas, and it is the guardian of supreme magic. The purpose of relying on good knowledge is to get rid of direct interests and witness Bodhi personally. If we value the fame and "network" of good knowledge for worldly petty gain, it is simply contempt for good knowledge and blasphemy against supreme magic. At the end of the semester, I was lucky enough to meet good knowledge, always serving respectfully, and especially afraid of diligent practice every day. Where did you get the idea to gain fame and fortune in the world? This kind of layman's ideas and practices are many times more stupid than those who bought bamboo slips and returned pearls.

5. Please ask the teacher for mediation in family disputes.

Ask the teacher for instructions about trivial feelings.

Some laymen are similar to laymen who burn incense and worship Buddha, but the difference is that they regard their good knowledge as living buddhas and bodhisattvas: seeking good knowledge to keep their homes safe, seeking good knowledge to mediate the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, seeking good knowledge to protect their families from diseases and disasters, and so on. There are also some lay people who want to seek good knowledge when moving their houses. Having a baby requires a lot of knowledge to get a good reputation; Disaster needs good knowledge to become a good career. In this layman's eyes, good knowledge is parents, immortals or Mr. Feng Shui, and sometimes it is an old imperial calendar. Anyway, it is not a dharma carrier that teaches people life and death.

Is it a secular thing to learn Buddhism and only focus on practice? Respect the teacher and respect the Tao. I only want to become a Buddha, but I don't want more. The trivial things in the world and the brief disputes between parents are meaningless. Even if all the good knowledge is solved for us, what can we do? Hold on to the world and have no desire to get rid of it. Even if all the problems are solved temporarily, there will be more trouble. This lay man is full of troubles, that is, he has never considered his own life and death, nor his own karma. He doesn't know how to seek liberation and cause and effect, and he is not a Buddhist disciple at all.

6. The method taught by the teacher is not wonderful.

The teacher has a treasure and needs it.

Some lay people do not have a correct understanding of Buddhism, and even if they are taught good knowledge, they cannot have real confidence. Instead, they threw them away. How come... Because the plain practice method can't satisfy their curiosity of "seeing the light at once". But once they hear about the sweet dew pills of good knowledge, polished Buddha statues and so on. They will flock to beg for good knowledge in various ways. If you set up a Buddhist temple at home, please respect the Buddha statue, or even buy a string of prayer beads, you will take pains to seek good knowledge and blessings.

Good knowledge is a collection of buddhas and bodhisattvas. The reason why thousands of people admire wearing it is because there is a clean inheritance and a deep secret that can free all beings from becoming Buddhas. If you insist on such a great virtue, but don't seek the Dharma, or you haven't practiced as well as the Dharma after teaching the Dharma, it's like abandoning Mani Baozhu in a cesspit. Such laymen don't know why they rely on good knowledge, and they don't know the extraordinary methods taught by good knowledge. They are used to seeing the methods taught by good knowledge from their ordinary thoughts, supernatural power, "aura" and other evil knowledge, and making wild guesses with such thoughts. They naturally think that the methods taught by good knowledge are nothing.

Ganlu pills, blessings, etc. Only when karma is harmonious, the wisdom given by good knowledge and fate will have incredible effects. However, relying solely on these blessings and not entering the actual practice, you can't get rid of it after all, let alone become a Buddha. I have never heard of the great virtue of eating blessings and achieving success, nor have I heard of the laymen being freed by good knowledge.

7. If you praise yourself, you will like to praise him, but you will complain.

Jealousy comes first in everything.

Some laymen are not allowed to praise others for their good knowledge because of their habitual habits, otherwise they will be unhappy and jealous. I have always had a small plan in my heart, hoping to recognize me as the best and closest disciple. If a fellow initiate received Xue Shan, stayed at home for two days and ate five steamed buns, then the layman must ask Xue Shan to stay for three days and eat seven pies. If good knowledge praises someone's good practice and says that he can sit for two hours at a time, then such a layman must sit for three hours and his legs will be broken.

Great goodness knows constancy, showing difference from fate, and treating all disciples equally, without distinction. Just as the Buddha treated his son Lolo, there is no difference between him and devadatta who caused trouble everywhere. And this kind of layman, according to his usual view, can't wait to turn good knowledge into his closest relatives. It is this greed and ignorance that prevents him from benefiting from the law. Providing and serving good knowledge can naturally accumulate infinite wealth, but if you start with jealousy or jealousy, you will not only have no merit, but also plant the cause of falling into Ashura Road.

8, sentient beings and desires, insatiable greed.

Observe and think about the secular.

Some laymen verbally say "they have confidence in good knowledge", but in fact their so-called "confidence" is nothing more than secular emotions. They think that the dignity of good knowledge is outstanding, so they are greedy and worship him as their "Prince Charming" or spiritual idol. On the contrary, some laymen always speculate on the words and deeds of thinking about good knowledge with their own separate thoughts, and think that good knowledge has many incongruities and even faults.

Whether it is to hold the mind by emotion or to speculate from ordinary people, it is not as good as the law. The only way to rely on good knowledge is to rely on and serve the law. Respect and confidence in good knowledge are also based on the pure inheritance of good knowledge, and they are teachers who guard the teachings of the Buddha. If greed is used to "stop" good knowledge, what is the difference between it and idolatry and groupies in the world? Once such a layman can't get the "goodwill" and "care" expected by good knowledge, he will have great troubles. If you hate because of love, it will even lead to the great evil of abandoning your teacher.

The practice of great knowledge is remarkable, and its every move, word and deed are illusory, ingenious and convenient. Qin Stoji, the guru of Huazhi Rinpoche, once got drunk and smoked, kicking and cursing Huazhi Rinpoche, but with this hand eye, he made Huazhi Rinpoche legal at this moment. Yi Xuan, the founder of Zen Buddhism, is unrequited, virtuous and unreasonable, and I don't know how many believers he has attracted. When we haven't realized the incredible secret meaning of good knowledge in words and deeds, we should never think about it. Instead, we should always check our body, language and mind and try our best to practice it, so as to conform to the teaching method of good knowledge more quickly. If you really don't understand the words and deeds of good knowledge, or have doubts about the words and deeds of good knowledge, you should directly ask for good knowledge with repentance and respect, instead of imagining that good knowledge is wrong. There is a saying: "You can't see after the mountain, but you can see clearly after the autumn. This is the reason why the law does not correspond, so you often repent and think. " It means you don't know your mistakes. Master can see clearly some "mistakes", which is why he can't correspond to Buddhism. If this happens, Qin Ying should repent. A layman who wants to test his knowledge blindly can also think about this problem and be as rational as a judge.

9, both by the law and not refined.

Arbitrary comparison and greed

Although some lay people have heard a lot about Buddhism, they feel that Master has not taught them so much, so they can't stand diligent practice. In this state of mind, once you hear that a monk or living Buddha has extraordinary consciousness or Buddhism, you will be insatiable and even learn from your own fundamental master.

Such a layman deceives good knowledge, which is greedy and stupid. Imagine even if they got other laws? If you hear another "supreme" magic, you will feel itchy and give up the present method. In this way, the bear will "catch up with the teacher" like a stick. In the end, it will get nothing and there is no hope of liberation. Such a layman, as described in Buddhist scriptures, is like sowing in spring, pulling out seedlings to encourage growth, and replanting crops before they grow out. Repeatedly, until autumn, despite great efforts, nothing was achieved.

If our teacher is good at knowledge, he will observe our karma and roots. If we are really suitable for practicing other methods, or should stop learning other good knowledge, the teacher will definitely tell us. In the past, Ji Mei Chilevose didn't live long. His guru Jimelinba observed this reason, which meant that he was allowed to visit a yogi for a long time. Yi Xuan, the founder of Zen Buddhism in Han Dynasty, was beaten three times under the seat of Huang Baiyun Xi, but he didn't understand why. Zen master Yun Xi pointed out that he was awarded the highest safety beach to pay homage to Zen master Dayu, and Yi Xuan understood the legitimacy from this.

A layman who is insatiable about other laws, the fundamental mistake is that he has no firm confidence in good knowledge, and correspondingly, he has no confidence in the laws he has obtained, so he will run around and keep seeking. If you lack confidence in doctrines, you can't cherish them, let alone stick to them. If so, the disciple not only failed to practice, but also committed the crime of giving up good knowledge carelessly.

label

Master Richang once told a story when he was explaining the most extensive theory of Bodhi Daoism: One day, the devil said to the Buddha, "Buddha, I couldn't help you when you were alive. When you are nirvana, I will let my descendants put on your clothes and ruin your teaching method with similar words and deeds. " When the Buddha heard this, he was speechless and wept silently. At this point, Master Richang couldn't help but burst into tears. When I heard this, my heart ached. From then on, every memory was mixed with sadness.

People's impressions and understanding of Buddhism mostly come from the lay people he came into contact with. If we lay people misbehave and make all beings misunderstand or even hate Buddhism, then we will become the devil's family and the descendants of the gods!

Every time I think about ending the decline of Buddhism, I can't help but feel like a knife. The purpose of writing this self-warning record is not to criticize others, but to warn us laymen that we should check ourselves and correct ourselves in our daily practice, change the misunderstanding of Buddhism by people who come into contact with us, and promote Buddhism. I secretly hope that readers will be sincere only at the end of the research, and don't regard the words as excessive and ironic.
