Which direction is Guangzhou in China?
During the Republic of China, South China included Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Fujian, Yunnan and Guizhou. 1945 after War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, it was included in the provinces of Taiwan Province Province, collectively known as "six provinces in South China". However, there are many folk sayings about "South China". South China in a broad sense includes Fujian Province and Taiwan Province Province.
South China refers to Guangdong Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region, Hainan Province and adjacent islands, such as zhongsha islands, Nansha Islands, Xisha Islands, dongsha islands (Guangdong), Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands (Taiwan Province), Bailongwei Island (Guangxi) and so on.
Although Fujian Province and Taiwan Province Province are often nominally listed in East China, Fujian Province and Taiwan Province Province belong to South China plate in culture, customs, consanguinity and personnel flow, especially the local culture in south-central Fujian Province, which is similar to Xijiang River Basin (Guangzhou and Zhaoqing), Dongjiang River Basin (Huizhou and Meizhou) and East Coast (Minnan) in Guangdong Province.
