Summer Travel

The Wutai Mountain area has high humidity in summer and there is often rain. You need to bring rain gear when going up the mountain. When traveling to Wutai Mountain in spring and autumn, you need to bring sweaters and woolen pants. If you want to go to the east terrace to watch the sunrise, you have to rent a cotton coat. From the Fanzhi and Shahe areas in the north, you need to pay attention to seasonal and climate changes when crossing Hongmenyan to Mount Wutai. Before May and after September, the highways that reach into the clouds are blocked by snow and difficult to pass. It is only passable for more than four months between May and September. Summer is the best season to travel to Mount Wutai.

Winter Travel

Wutai Mountain in winter is both frozen and snowy, yet quiet and beautiful. It is completely different from other seasons and full of another style. Although there are storms and heavy snow from time to time, it blocks the I can't stop the strong footsteps of pilgrims on Mount Wutai in winter. When visiting Wutai Mountain in winter, you should pay attention to hotels. In winter, 95% of Wutai Mountain hotels are closed, with only a few hotels operating normally. Therefore, there is little choice in hotels, especially on weekends when there are very few available rooms. Choose large hotels with high occupancy rates and sufficient heating supply.
