Liancun, formerly known as Century Gold, is located at 15km southwest of Fu 'an City, Fujian Province. In the Tang Dynasty, Xue Lingzhi studied hard and became the first scholar in Bamin. Tang Suzong praised his integrity, honesty and self-improvement, and named his villages "Liancun", "Lianshui" and "Lianling". Since then, Liancun culture has gradually formed an atmosphere. During the 150 years from the third year of Daguan in the Northern Song Dynasty to the sixth year of Baoyu in the Southern Song Dynasty (11258), there were 17 scholars in Liancun. The ancient castles, official roads, ancient houses, ancestral temples, temples and other historical sites in the village are well preserved. In 2008, Liancun was named the fourth batch of famous Chinese historical and cultural villages by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and National Cultural Heritage Administration.
