Why did Kangxi keep his grandmother, sourdrang queen, in the "temporary Anfeng Hall" outside the Qing Dongling for 37 years?

This is the last wish of Emperor Kangxi to meet sourdrang queen, that is, to be buried near Xiaoling Mausoleum in the emperor shunzhi. 1643 After the death of Xiao Zhuang's husband, Huang Taiji, Xiao Zhuang shouldered the heavy responsibility of education and Shunzhi alone. Never thought that the emperor shunzhi died in his twenties, so many responsibilities, such as the upbringing and education of the young Emperor Kangxi, once again fell to sourdrang queen. Because of these experiences, sourdrang queen was closely related to Shunzhi and Kangxi. Take Emperor Kangxi as an example. When he goes out for inspection, he always writes to greet Xiaozhuang. If he travels with Xiaozhuang, he will help him personally.

It was because of his deep feelings that Emperor Kangxi wanted to satisfy sourdrang queen's wishes as much as possible. Sourdrang queen died on 1688. Before she died, she told Kangxi that she wanted to be buried near Xiaoling. Traditionally, Xiaozhuang, as a concubine, should have been transported back to Shengjing after her death and buried with Emperor Taizong and Huang Taiji. But what about Xiaozhuang? Zigong, written by Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty, was long-term and modest. With what? I love your father and son, and I can't bear to leave? These two reasons declined the joint burial, and then said that only when buried in Fenghua can there be no regrets.

Kangxi, who has always been filial, naturally didn't want sourdrang queen to regret it, so he really built a temporary Anfengtang near Fenghua Xiaoling after sourdrang queen's death. This temporary Anfeng Temple has only ground buildings and no underground palace, so it can't be regarded as a real mausoleum. Sourdrang queen's coffin has been put inside, and it has not been buried for 37 years. It is reported that Kangxi did not bury sourdrang queen directly in Dongling, because her status was higher than that of the emperor shunzhi, and at that time Xiaoling had occupied the supreme main peak, so there was no burial place commensurate with her seniority in the cemetery.

After 37 years in the temporary Anfeng Hall, sourdrang queen was finally buried in 1725, when the Qing emperor changed to Yongzheng. On the grounds of the prosperity of the country since sourdrang dowager's temporary security, the emperor identified the temporary Anfeng Hall as an auspicious place, and then built the underground palace on the spot. After the underground palace was built, sourdrang queen was buried in it. In addition, the temporary Anfengtang was renamed Zhao Qianling.
