Why is Deyun Society called Deyun Society?

There are many explanations about the origin of the name of Deyun Society:

1. Zhang Wenshun gave it to Zhang Wenshun's disciples, such as Xu Deliang, Zhang Dewu and Deng Deyong, and Degang Guo, as the founder, took a German word in his real name. As for the cloud word, it is said that it comes from a picture in Zhang Wenshun's study, and Degang Guo's disciples also collected it according to these eight words.

2. The origin of the word "Deyun Society" is based on the name of Dexing Society a hundred years ago. As early as the Qing Dynasty, there was a tea merchant named Liu Dexing in Baoding, Hebei Province. He opened a teahouse and introduced Quyi performances into it, so the business was booming. However, Dexing Society was forced to dissolve because of offending the government. The name of the Deyun Society Crosstalk Society in Beijing is also borrowed from Dexing Society.

Extended information:

"Deyun Society" is a Quyi performance group with the purpose of promoting Chinese culture, cultivating Quyi talents and serving the public. The community was originally founded in 1996 by famous crosstalk performers Zhang Wenshun (deceased), Degang Guo and Jing Li (retired).

It's really hard after 26 years of hard work, but it's gratifying that Deyun Society is gradually moving towards glory through the unremitting efforts of Mr. Degang Guo and many old and new crosstalk performers. The "Beijing Crosstalk Conference" affiliated to Deyun Society performs five or six performances every week in Tianqiaole Tea Garden and other places.
