My kitchen is a separate space, and the living room and dining room are integrated. (The renderings when buying a house show that the sofa is not against the wall, but behind it is the dining table) Feng Shui theory
First of all, I would like to state that I am not a Feng Shui expert. I major in architecture and have done some research on Feng Shui layout according to customer requirements.
Your design drawing is obviously plagiarized from Western decoration, and now the developers hire people who have copied a lot of articles in the world. According to Chinese Feng Shui, the TV cabinet and the sofa in the living room face each other, showing the trend of mountains and flowing water. The TV cabinet needs to be shorter than the sofa cushions. This is good in terms of Feng Shui and human visual comfort, and the sofa becomes the backing. When people sit on it, they must lean against a wall or a closed screen behind the sofa. From the layout and psychological analysis, people feel most secure when there is a backer behind the seat.
So it is recommended that you design a separation between the sofa and the dining table, close to the back of the sofa. People who are eating or watching TV will feel comfortable, and there will be fewer problems in the family.
The above is purely a personal opinion, combined with relevant books (Hong Kong textbooks, all students studying architecture now take this course) for your reference.
PS: Feng Shui is indeed a broad and profound subject, integrating astronomy, geography, physics, chemistry, psychology, etc. It is recommended to refer to more books for research and analysis.
