When I was a child, my greatest happiness was listening to Dan Tianfang's ballad Romance of the Three Kingdoms and knowing a lot of its historical anecdotes and figures. Later, I saw Luo Guanzhong's Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and I admired the characters in it. Regrettably, to this day, I have basically never set foot in related sites and landscapes; I didn't expect to climb Yueyang Tower in late spring and early summer this year, and I found Xiao Qiao's tomb in the corner of the building.
Er Qiao was born in Meicheng Town, Qianshan County, Hubei Province. Later generations have a poem to describe: "Da Qiao has a graceful demeanour, Xiao Qiaomei, Qiu Shui Furong." There are only a few written records about Er Qiao in The Romance of the Three Kingdoms: "Jiangdong has two daughters, Gong Qiao and Gong Qiao, one named Da Qiao and the other named Xiao Qiao. There is the capacity of sinking fish and falling geese, and the appearance of closing the moon is ashamed of flowers. Da Qiao is good at writing, and Xiao Qiao is good at fighting. Da Qiao is Sun Ce's wife and Xiao Qiao is Zhou Yu's wife. " As for their names, dates of birth and death, they never left a word. Xiao Qiao was so lucky that he was sealed as a building and slept with the literati; But I have doubts about this lonely cemetery in front of me. Is there really a collection of the charming body of that stunning beauty here?
According to Qin Long's Records of Yuezhou County in the Ming Dynasty, "Wu Erqiao's tomb in the Three Kingdoms ruled the north in the government. When Wu attacked Anhui, he got two daughters, who he thought were his own. He took Xiao Qiao as Zhou Yu and died here. " This should be the earliest record of Xiao Qiao's tomb. For a long time, Xiao Qiao's tomb did not attract people's attention. It was not until the second year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (AD 1797) that the magistrate Shen Tingying built the tomb of Xiao Qiao, and Xiao Qiao once again faced the world. At this time, Xiao Qiao has been dead for more than 1000 years. In the 10th year of Guangxu (A.D. 188 1), Lu Baozong, the inspector general, rebuilt the cemetery, changed the inscription to "Xiao Qiao's Tomb" and built a tomb on the south side, in which a statue of Xiao Qiao was molded. This should be the most direct origin of Xiao Qiao's tomb. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, Xiao Qiao's tomb was razed to the ground by gunfire and smoke, leaving only a stone tablet engraved with "Xiao Qiao's tomb". 1992, Yueyang municipal government rebuilt Xiaoqiao's tomb and moved it to Yueyang Tower Park.
There are no Weng Zhong, stone beasts or even guardrails around Xiao Qiao's grave. The tombstone is made of white marble, and the words "Niannujiao Chibi Nostalgia" by Su Shi are engraved on the back: "Recalling Gong Jin, Xiao Qiao was handsome and heroic when he first got married." Nothing else.

In front of Xiao Qiao's grave, there is no lack of solemnity in simplicity, and it is not deserted in silence, just like a living woman standing there smiling, which makes you want to be close to her. She told you about the chaotic wars in the past and poured out all her troubles to you. I put my hand gently on the tombstone, and the eternal soul rejected the noisy heart of the world and urged me to draw my hand back at once. Why should I disturb the peace of the nobles when I am an ordinary person? So, I stood quietly in front of the tomb for a while, which was my respect and admiration for a noble woman.
"I also believe that the beauty is dead and the bones are still there." After a thousand years, the place where Xiao Qiao really buried incense is not important; It is not her delicate body that pays tribute to Xiao Qiao, but that beautiful legend and that heavy history.
